Cordel Pemsl was murdered inside Hilton Coliseum during a game there several years ago. He was viciously pulled from the floor by ISU students, repeatedly stabbed and tossed around like a rag doll all while the officials and ISU administration looked on without doing anything. It was even broadcast on TV. Surprised you didn't hear about it . . . . .

It was a disgusting premeditated and coordinated attack.

For the record, I thought Potterbaum was in before the fumble, thought the Dekkers shove was fine and that the ISU WR was juggling the ball on his way to the ground. I was fine with the no call on the X TD. Both were handfighting and X won.

I can see why Potterbaum's review wasn't over turned. If it was called a TD on the field, then I don't think it gets overturned either.

I also thought the end of the game was handled pretty bad too in Iowa's favor.
“No call” on X? There was no call to be made. If anyone thinks that’s controversial, they’re a dumbass. Moss just fell on his ass.

It was obvious he fumbled. Again, only a dumbass would think otherwise.

Also, why does Iowa’s field suck? People were slipping everywhere when it wasn’t even raining.

He was murdered so bad he barely made out on the court as the ringer the next season to show us how dysfunctional that ISU team could get real quick.

Oh yes for sure, haven't lost a B1g game yet.
Kind of funny but after having posted that I encountered a twitter post by a Nebraska fan saying that same thing about still can win the big 10 somewhat ironically. I hope they meant it ironically and weren't serious, but you never know for sure.

There's a reason this story from the Gazette released when it did. Iowa Football is under immense pressure from boosters and media about the offense. Even Eickholt who is a homer is putting pressure on the Ferentz clan. Why else would Kirk go to the press 5 days after the game? Deflect, deflect, deflect. Hawk fans like @iahawks are getting suckered right in too.
Ferentz is mad because if they would have pulled that game out, there would be no public outrage and he'd just keep doing what he's doing. They've been skating by on games like this for years. Do just enough on offense to keep it close, wait for the other team to make a mistake and kick a FG to win. It burned them Saturday and now their fans are getting vocal.

If that ball falls straight down from where it is in the pic, it lands before the goal line. And it came out a split second earlier than what is shown in that pic.

Do you realize how bad you look blaming this loss on officiating? Your team is terrible.
There is no way you can tell from that photo taken from behind the end zone where the ball is at.

Where have I blamed the loss on officiating? I just said I thought Potterbaum was in before the fumble. It was a bang bang play and stuff happens.

I agree we are bad right now. Congrats on beating us by 3 points.

Let it go lol. No one actually knows if he crossed the goal line or not because it was a bang bang play and there was not a shred of conclusive evidence.
I agree, whatever was called on the field would have stood. Sometimes you get that call and sometimes you don't. It worked in ISU's favor and against Iowa this time. I'm not complaining, I just said I thought he was in. Nothing more, nothing less. ISU fans would be saying the same thing if it was an ISU player who fumbled at the goal line.

Getting a little salty there, bud.

Not sure if you were at the game, but he replay they showed twice showed the ball coming out before his arm even broke the endzone line. That replay was behind the play so things would appear farther forward than they actually were and you could see the ball loose and green between his arm and the goal line.

Also, the review crew and officials are different. We have visiting team officials and home conference review crews (so they were big 10). So Kirk saying that that would be a TD in the big ten or they would have stopped bittmers catch (which proved to be a catch) for review in the big ten, is horse crap because it was big ten review guys doing it and not big 12. He is just crying and trying to point fingers because his son is under large fire and he is starting to feel the heat.

They stashed Pemsl's body under the Cyclone Alley bleachers. Connor McCaffery discovered it last December when Brockington broke both of his ankles and he slid into the Cyclone Alley abyss.

I'm a little surprised this hasn't been talked about more. It seemed like both teams were having footing issues. That surface was just replaced like 4 summers ago.

Iowa doesn't like offense so they probably water the field down a couple hours beforehand. Ever wonder why they have more issues than normal playing away from Kinnick and their defense has let downs away from home?
