It wasn’t even a bad call or the right / wrong call. It was just the call made on the field because there was a flood of guys in the area which blocked the view. It’s bad luck.Still in denial phase I see. Lol almost sad… ALMOST.
Get off their asses. Their own media, who have affinity for Kirk and Brian’s grundles, are turning on them. To see these trolls stay and fight the good fight is truly noble. Never surrender toolbags!!!!!Bump for @iahawks since they’re still posting in this thread.
You’re actually right here. Telling the fanbase that’s what they should actually be mad about. Not the fact that Iowa is on pace to have the worst offense since 2002-2003.Bump for @iahawks since they’re still posting in this thread.
Yep, when he jumped backward from the end zoneSo he fumbled after he crossed the plane?
You don't get the point, do you?So ISU fans, the AD, or coaches have never complained about the refs before?
Oh please. This is what makes sports fun. I’m sure you probably love watching Texas-OU or OSU-Michigan right? It’s just different when you’re involved.I still wish they'd quit playing the Cy-Hawk game, in all sports.
Iowa fans and media are the worst..... and the coaches now are even blaming any loss to ISU on officials or who knows what else? And ISU fans risk getting hit by full beer cans or batteries attending these games. It's not a fun game at all for most that attend.... just ask them. I know a lot of people that sell their tickets to the ISU-Iowa game when in Ames every time..... they just don't want to attend anymore.
High and tight keeps the ball secure. Extending out in that position leads to losing control and fumbling. You only risk that if you are short on 4th down. Poor coaching. It wasn’t even a bad call or the right / wrong call. It was just the call made on the field because there was a flood of guys in the area which blocked the view. It’s bad luck.
I’d be blaming my fullback for getting the ball punched out.
We’ve done the same thing though and Brock also fumbled on the goal line as well.. It’s just execution.High and tight keeps the ball secure. Extending out in that position leads to losing control and fumbling. You only risk that if you are short on 4th down. Poor coaching.
There's a reason this story from the Gazette released when it did. Iowa Football is under immense pressure from boosters and media about the offense. Even Eickholt who is a homer is putting pressure on the Ferentz clan. Why else would Kirk go to the press 5 days after the game? Deflect, deflect, deflect. Hawk fans like @iahawks are getting suckered right in too. You’re actually right here. Telling the fanbase that’s what they should actually be mad about. Not the fact that Iowa is on pace to have the worst offense since 2002-2003.
I think the article was written about the press conference from a couple days ago. But your point still stands.
If it weren’t for them damn Big 12 refs!!!
Amen- nobody worse at this than KCRG and Saville (learned well under Uncle John Campbell for many years). After the Hilton shellacking last December, they never even put a story on their website. Just acted like it didn't happen. But when Iowa beats Slapdick State in any sport, it gets coverage no matter what time the game ended and you'd have thought the Hawks beat the Bills. The fact that the CR Gazette chose to put an article in their paper about how Iowa got jobbed in this game by the officials tells you all you need to know about eastern Iowa sports "journalism".... or just sports "journalism" in Iowa in general.... it's pathetic and a joke.
They all bow down to the mighty Hawkeyes in nearly every single case. The media and the Iowa fans in this state just cannot fathom that ISU can beat the mighty Hawkeyes.... so when it happens.... it must have been the officials that screwed Iowa out of a win, or ISU cheated, etc, etc. And shame on the media in this state for also jumping on this nonsense and putting out stupid articles like this one to only reinforce this false narrative amongst Iowa fans.
I'll be waiting for the CR Gazette's first article they publish about Iowa fans throwing stuff at ISU fans and other media (Barstool for example). It won't happen, but in all honestly there's more truth to that story than there is that Iowa lost the game because of the officiating.
Pemsl MURDER. That was a MURDER. And no one did anything about it! Hawkeye Elvis had to hire a PI to get to the bottom of the vast conspiracy surrounding that crime.
Cordel Pemsl was murdered inside Hilton Coliseum during a game there several years ago. He was viciously pulled from the floor by ISU students, repeatedly stabbed and tossed around like a rag doll all while the officials and ISU administration looked on without doing anything. It was even broadcast on TV. Surprised you didn't hear about it . . . . .When I google this, it only talks about a Pemsl DUI. What's this about a murder?
