Between this and people grumping about local coverage in a couple other threads, it reminds me of how surprised I am when I visit family and friends in Iowa and they flip on the local news. I guess with no real newspapers left in Iowa it would be a thing but still catches me off guard. Outside of Brenda whatshername, the KARE meteorologist here, I actually cannot name a single other TV news type here in the Twin Cities. There is one ISU alumni but his name escapes me at the moment, partially because he's been pretty much invisible within the local ISU alumni community. Think the last time I tuned in the local stations was during the summer unrest a couple years ago.
I moved back to Iowa 10 years ago, but Randy Shaver is the guy I know that's an alum. Mark Rosen is the only other TV news person I remember. They're probably both retired by now, lol

You know what, I might actually agree with Tom here.
When I get done with my YMCA church rec league games, sometimes I have to ice my knee that got replaced. We play defense with the same intensity as the Big Ten, and we are just as physical.
Sometimes I even have to pop an advil to wrestle around with the grandkids. It's brutal.

And the conference that actually plays every team in the conference twice. You can't have an unbalanced schedule loaded with conference bottom feeders like Iowa does (never mind the fact that there are no bottom feeders in the Big 12).

Hmmm....Doesn't seem to be much of an issue for Iowa State players.
