Normally I wouldn't be making fun of Quinn Douglas but he deserves my ridicule, not my respect. He interjects his opinion (which is usually wrong but presented as fact) into every argument he can. He quote tweets you when he disagrees with you to try to drag his followers into also arguing with you. He's not a sports fan, he's an Iowa sports fan and makes that very clear. Iowa can do no wrong (see him calling JBo a lockdown defender) and tries to be the White Knight for anyone associated with Iowa (see him interjecting himself into my opinion on Karen Brommelkamp yesterday). Life's going to be real, real rough for Quinn because he's pigeon-holed himself into being an Iowa sports fan and that's what he wants his career to be.

What is he, all of about 22 years old? He deserves no respect. Guy seems to talk a tough game on social media. I wonder if he's ever had a date in his life? I highly doubt it. From the looks of his picture, it goes to show what the typical Hawk fan looks like.

I would just simply ask why the defense didn't step out and force a 5 count to counter the "stalling". It's takes like that from him that tells me he's not a fan of the sport, but a sports fan for his favorite teams.

I think Quinny fails to grasp the obvious. He hangs his hat on the psychological and philosophical aspects of sports and his beloved Hawks.

Speaking of this topic. I believe Kirk indicated he was going to put something together that was more effective. He had better get going before he gets wrapped up in spring camp.

Iowa football already solved racism duh

Mark Dukes is the worst one of the bunch. Scott Unash is fine, and I don’t mind Brommelkamp all that much usually.

Unash did/does a GREAT job of promoting high school sports in the Cedar Rapids area but we don't hear it much anymore since KGYM dropped covering HS football and basketball games.

Honestly I’ve always thought Brommelkamp has been pretty supportive of ISU.

I have never listened to TB and had no idea who Schoultz was before this incident. Plenty of petty on both sides, but what would be the harm in approving him for media coverage? I understand the rule in place on covering the first games, but it sounds like you can seek a waiver for that.

So instead of TB talking up the Sweet 16 on Eastern Iowa radio, I am sure he is dumping on Iowa State for this....kind of a missed opportunity to grow our brand in an area of the state that may not even know or understand what a Sweet 16 is.

I wonder if there are limited amounts of spots for local media as the tournament advances. I would guess there would be a much higher percentage of national/regional media covering this compared to the first couple of rounds.

Todd is not handling it well and it's pretty aggravating that Sweet 16 press credentials are taking some of the discussion away from the Sweet 16. Todd can be better and he should be. He does cover ISU better than most over in this market. The bar is very low over here though and I really think all media on the eastern side of the state miscalculates their audience. That's a topic for another day though.

On ISU's side, we certainly could have turned this into a better situation. The story is the men's basketball team, not press credentials. ISU can't control some media member acting like a petulant child when they are told no, but they can also act in good faith and try to smooth the situation over. Maybe they tried to privately, but publicly, Todd has effectively drug ISU into the mud with him, making both look bad to people that aren't fully invested in the Cy/Hawk tribalism. I don't think ISU is wrong in denying Todd credentials. I do think ISU could have publicly handled it better to diffuse a situation over here. Like it or not, Todd is one of the VERY few voices over here that even considers muttering the words Iowa and State in the same sentence without having to choke back the urge to yell CLOWNS!
