All you have to do is recruit at the same level as the best programs in the country with some of the best coaches in the country. Light work for Franny Boy.
Right? Lol I guess I don’t get the comparison. Like maybe last year’s Oregon State Elite 8 run is more comparable? Get hot, win the conference tournament and make a run in the Dance.

I won't bag on their year this year too much, **** happens in the tourney. Maybe in a different world Murray goes bonkers and they go on a run.

But to look at a F4 of Villanova, Kansas, Duke, and North Carolina and say "that's what we want to be" is just hilarious. There are a lot better examples for an Iowa fan to point to as to how they could do it in the future.

"This Final Four was a good road map for Iowa to get there."

-Chad right now on 1460
They really don't understand the first thing about CBB over there, do they? It's consistently 2nd grade level ignorant homer analysis.

Maybe try to make the sweet 16 first? Maybe try to fill out a roster with legitimate P6 talent first, for that matter...

Oregon State was elite talent compared to Iowa.

I think Fran has always approached the job the same way he approached Siena, or any of the other jobs he had.

He seems to recruit the same type of player, some develop, some don’t. At the p6 level that lack of development is much more noticeable than at the mid major level.

He deserves credit for having players like Garza Murray white develop into good big 10 basket ally players.

He deserves blame for never figuring out how to recruit the guard position while at Iowa.

He won a tournament title, Iowa had their name in the media as a chic pick to make a run

Can you remember the last time that happened at Iowa? They were a 2 last year, and no one really thought they would make the final four in Gonzaga’s region.

So that was heady stuff for Iowa basketball fan, something they’re certainly not used to.

Even though Richmond beat them, that will be enough for Iowa basketball fan for at least a couple of years.

Iowa's magical late season run would have ended against Illinois had they not sh!t the bed against Indiana...

He gets credit for White and that's it. Garza and the Murrays had a ton of development outside of Iowa City...

Some of them still think Iowa is headed to the final 4 in the near future. As if the last 2 seasons have laid the foundation for that. How about making a sweet 16 first.

I don’t disagree with that at all.

Frank and Kenyon did a great job understanding that their kids are a brand, and made every decision for them as if they were a business

Very smart. Paid off for Garza, and will pay off for at least Keegan

Jesus, I just read that. Chad is not a reporter. He's a blogger, and in that "article" (diary entry), it's just him venting out his frustrations about Iowa players not getting drafted. Absolutely hilarious.
Can’t/won’t read that. That guy is honestly just ******* sad.

Yeah you won't gain anything of substance if you do read it. He even said something along the lines of "Iowa State had more guys drafted than us, despite us beating them this year"

Chad just had to include the obligatory hok journalist dig at Iowa State. It's a part of every story from guys like him and Dochterman. They think it adds some sort of credibility to their story.
