Iowa Beat Writers

It’s not early, he’s six years older than me. I think anyone over 65 is pretty fair game so that’s why they keep pushing up full retirement age lol

I think all colleges need to require all staff/coaches to take a class on "how to retire with dignity". One person I can think of that needed that at ISU was Dr. Walt Fehr. Renowned soybean breeder just did not go own gracefully. A lot of issues and he gave away all his seed germplasm to a private company. Didn't think you could do that. But then again he thought he was an ISU god and above all others.

I think he has coached too long. I used to hold him and Michigan State in high regard. I considered them a borderline blue blood. That sentiment has slowly gone away over the last 10 or so years. And meanwhile, he continues to yell at refs, his players etc. break clip boards, give sound byte press conferences etc. He is basically short Fran McCaffrey but with a championship and more tourney success.
And thats just whats happened around game time. Look at the police record for his players during their time there. Its not good. Dont get me started on the rest of the athletic department.

Who did he give them to?

Ah, the 'beat up on each other' comes swinging in.

He must have watched BTN for a refresher before taking the podium.
I liked this one from another BTN cult member. They spent all week crowning Izzo and MSU national champions and assumed they were going to win. Now the Big 10 media is throwing a fit because they're getting picked on.

Maryland didn't win a single Big 10 conference game that year, so nope!

This argument is as effective as a 1 legged man in an a$$ kicking contest.

I remember when the BTN had a show called the legends of the Big Ten, and one of the shows was on
Tom Osborne at Nebraska. WTF, he never coached in the Big Ten. I guess the were desperate for
programming.

The mid-90s Nebraska natty teams are featured on the regular.

Had BTN on before an 11 am kickoff and they were doing a top 10 best defensive lineman to ever play in the conference. #1 was notorious Big 10 great Ndamukong Suh.

If I remember correctly, DeCourcy was a shill for Cincy back when Huggy was there (as well as a writer for The Sporting News) and pouted after Tim Floyd and team beat them in the tourney. He has a bad habit of mouthing off and looking like a fool.

Also, I suspect that both Izzo and DeCourcy, as well as the rest of the Big Ten conference and their boot licking henchmen, had their undies in a bunch over the national media scrunitizing the conference's performance in the tourney. Earlier in the day, Yormark made his move in NYC which was supposedly a Big Ten city with the addition of Rutgers. Tough day for them.

In summary, an excellent day for the Big 12.

He's quintupling down in the replies too. Just absolutely absurd.
