Stop using Kentucky as a barometer for teams, you sound stupid.

...You're right, maybe I should post and get excited about all of the January bracketology pages out there. Seems like a healthy reference.

What region is ISU projected to go to after Tech went after their weaknesses that haven't been resolved all year?

I don't understand how KU does it year after year. Playing them we really looked like the better all around team. We are just so inconsistent. Bill Self is a good coach. So is Fred but we need to find a way to fix this if we want a big12 season title. So far this is looking like another repeat year where the team frustrates the heck out of the fans and somehow brings it together at the end of the year. Unfortunately that means another KU win for the big12, but the upside is that we can make a final four because this team is really good when we show up.

Elite recruits and one of the best coaches in the country.

Hey! Lets get on Fred! Maybe we should bring back Greg! Good ******* ******. Take a breath fellas. Every. Single. Year. We have had a **** loss. We will bounce back.

Everyone wanted to sit Clyburn. Sit Allen. Sit Lucious. Sit Kane. Let Fred figure it out. There is a reason everyone says Fred is a great coach and a reason why Jay Williams knew he would be a good coach 13 years ago. Bad losses happen. And it happened tonight. We are not Kentucky. We are not the 76 Indiana Basketball team. We can still win the Conference. We can still Win the conference Tourney. We can still make a run. If it helps you to heal by ******** and moaning, keep on keeping on. But we will be beat Texas on Monday. I can guarantee it.

All you have to do is go listen to Georges interview on Gameday when he was asked to describe what Hoiball is, he said as a joke that defense is optional, but I think the players really feel that way.

I think CFH needs to meet with Niang, and tell him if he wants this team to be his team, he needs to quit sleep walking the first 30 minutes of the game and also play defense. He probably has already done this.

Georges did this 5 or 6 times last year. Do you forget the Michigan game? This isn't the first time this has happened. Niang is notorious for sleeping through games.

....dunno...let me know when ISU plays two decent games in a row. I'm not sure if that's happened this year. They keep having these 'we needed a wake up call' games, to be followed by a decent game, to be followed by another 'wake up call' game, etc.

They've had some decent bragging rights with other individual teams, but MAYBE all the trash talking to other benches/fanbases/teams/refs would hold some merit if they just went out and played like they didn't care what anyone else thought so they could just focus on basketball.

Instead, a lot of the extracurricular stuff looks kind of stupid, especially when it's against other teams that haven't done much, or lose to teams like Purdue...know what I mean?

Shut up you idiot. Look at Iowa States schedule then check out Iowa's....it is a little easier to win 3 in a row when you play a bunch of ****** teams like the hox.

Hard work always beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

This times a hundred. I really think we'll be fine by the end of the season, CFH will right the course. Unfortunately losses like this hurt our seeding badly in the tournament. On any given night I really think we can play with anyone in the country. Unfortunately like most prior post-seasons we'll likely get put into a difficult spot early on.

Here's to hoping we don't wet the bed again in conference play....Cheers boys!

The defense and offense were both horrible - no effort or focus on either side of the ball. Until they decided in teh last 4 minutes that, 'uh, maybe we shoudl try and win the game'

...beating Texas Tech would have been 3 in a row for ISU. Is TT one of these ****** teams?

Thanks for the kind words, but ISU is still inconsistent.

Oh, is this one of those times we can blame the Big 10 for our loss. I love those!!

"We lost to Texas Tech because Iowa's schedule is too easy!!"

Agree with the last statement. I don't care what anyone says--KU's not that great, and them winning the conference says more about the hype of the Big 12 more than anything. They still get worked by Kentucky if they played today.

There's a high level of deflection of things like my last statement from posters on here, but the reality is that any team with a pulse that plays some actual defense could do just fine against most teams from the Big 12. The proof was in Lubbock today.

If West Virginia gets as much credit as they get, I'd hope people would recognize South Carolina as a Big 12 title contender too.

ISU's very capable, but until they start playing as smart with the basketball as say...Texas Tech, they're just another decent team. Tubby Smith had his team ready to play some ball today, and they closed out. Was impressive.

I think FranF had it exactly right a couple of weeks ago, the Big 12 is the best most competitive league but one that lacks a real final four contender. I think that's exactly right.

We need a wakeup call = We are young and inexperienced.
