I'm putting this 100% on Fred. In no way should a team that has Big 12 championship aspirations written all over it, top 10, Final Four, etc come out and play like that. Championship teams DO NOT fall to teams like Tech. They know that these games are just as much win as Kansas at home.

The quotes from the players today just amplifies that Fred didn't have them ready. These guys get away with too much, and it showed tonight. So disappointed all around. Niang is a half of what he used to be and should not be a Woodson finalist at all.

...who have KU and KSU taken behind the woodshed?

I think the Big 12 has lots of competitive teams, but I'm not sure why people all of the sudden think these teams are good.

If you need to find out, put Kansas against someone like Kentucky again and you probably see a similar result.
Doubt it..That was one game, way early in the season..Texas played Kentucky fairly close. These teams aren't good at all, right? Give me a break

Every one of your posts tonight references Iowa or the B1G, so I don't believe you.

...posters on here have Gifs of Iowa State players taunting/trolling Iowa fans/players. Why OK then?

Monte Morris taunted South Carolina's bench after a bucket, and only got a warning before Iowa State continued to get dominated by them.

Is that better?

Is there a gif of that somewhere?

I suppose they'd have to play some basketball today in order to show the Tech fans how great they are.

Tech's players really didn't seem to care who they were playing and just went about their business.

since Babb left who's our lock down defender, the guy who comes in and gets in someone's jock strap and makes their life suck. Nobody. McKay brings energy but can't be that guy. Going back farther Stevie Johnson was that guy. We don't have a dirty work player right now.

Not at all. Like many others here we put a lot of time, and money into ISU athletics, especially the bball team.

I don't need to reference the countless kick to the nuts we've had, but this team should be better that what it showed tonight. This and Baylor were key to being in a HUGE advantage in the Big 12 and even on the way to a 1 seed. This team has the talent for that, so to see them show up so mentally disengaged is very sad.

They sure did a hell of a job at getting into your head. Let it go. Your team will get another shot next year.

I don't understand how KU does it year after year. Playing them we really looked like the better all around team. We are just so inconsistent. Bill Self is a good coach. So is Fred but we need to find a way to fix this if we want a big12 season title. So far this is looking like another repeat year where the team frustrates the heck out of the fans and somehow brings it together at the end of the year. Unfortunately that means another KU win for the big12, but the upside is that we can make a final four because this team is really good when we show up.

Eh, that's just his personality. He likes to joke around, and he knows the reputation they have of being an offensive team. I think it's just more the players we have, outside of Jameel, just aren't that good of defenders. When we had Babb, he played great defense every night and still played "Hoiball"

I understand that and my personality is to joke around to. But you know what I have learned, usually when you joke about something it is based on reality. For example, when I joke around with a guy at work about him being a bookie it stems from him wanting to gamble on everything.

Had they not given back all those points after they closed it to 6, we would've ran away, but didn't.

Nope, I'm pretty sure that when Kentucky wants to impose their will on someone, they'll beat them handily, and would vs. Kansas pretty much any day of the week. Maybe not by 30, but it would be pretty clear who the better team is.

Sure, Texas came back a little, but Kentucky simply did what they had to do when they needed and got the win in a game that wasn't in question, because they're strong enough to do that.

I'm not saying these teams aren't good at all...it's just a reality that it doesn't take some sort of lights-out performance to beat them.

And that great defending Babb and his team lost down here by 3 if I am not mistaken.

This isn't football. The basketball program is doing pretty well. Fred and the team don't owe you ****.

Stop using Kentucky as a barometer for teams, you sound stupid.

Fred has done a hell of a job coahing to give you those type of expectations about a team picked to finish 5th in the conference.

We lost two AA players, one of which was the Big 12 POY, the other our best player. Yet, we are still on pace to make the tournament for the 4th year in a row. This team is right on track, and hopefully will be peaking at the right time for the important part of the year. Losses like these are disappointing, but likely necessary in the learning process for a team that lost the players we did.

One way around it is to stop expecting a 1 seed. I don't know why this keeps coming up.

Assuming the wheels don't fall off, this team should make the NCAA tourney, and win one or two games, which is historically good at Iowa State.

I realize Fred's talked about National Championships, but defense has to become a priority first...and then lots of luck like a lot of NCAA tourney champs.

We get it already- you aren't meaning to be a troll, you are just that much of a dumb ***.

I think all of this is mental. We get in the top ten, start getting national media exposure and it goes to their heads. It seems like we are a better team when we aren't the front runner. Which sucks cause it means another KU championship but at least we should still be able to make some noise in the tournament. Even if we drop to a lower seed I'm still confident we can beat just about anyone on any given night when the team is focused.
