Hoiberg said he was dismayed that ISU players didn't seem bothered by the fact Tech was getting and making good looks.

Morris: "We knew this was a trap game .. that we just didn’t come prepared for. We saw ‘Tech' across their jersey & took them for granted."

I have no idea if ISU will change its starting lineup Monday, but Hoiberg’s comments sounded similar to when he inserted Morris last year.

"Hoiberg said he was dismayed that ISU players didn't seem bothered by the fact Tech was getting and making good looks."

I love Fred as the next Cyclone Fanatic, but I guess I am dismayed that CFH didn't sit their *** down until they WERE dismayed! Not sure why, but the cool demeanor doesn't seem to be working with this team.

It seems like based on past history this program has responded well after having these players only meetings. I kind of wish they would have had one during halftime.

There is only so much time during the game that you can sit down and motivate the team.

Not sure if you were responding to me or not but if so, I meant sit their butts down on the bench and let someone else play. There's no better motivator than losing your playing time! John Wooden said as much when he declared, "I found the bench to be the greatest ally I had to make individuals comply with what was best for the team."

In pretty much every off-season interview that I heard from Hoiberg, he mentioned that ISU needed to get better at defense in order to move beyond where the team was. Halfway through the season, the players don't seem to care much about defense. There seems to be a significant disconnect here...

They should be dismayed. Yes Tech played an unbelievable opening 5 minutes to the game but there were plenty of chances the rest of the game where we could have retaken the lead. Instead, we made bad passes, took bad shots, played sloppy defense. Top ten teams don't do any of those. Top ten teams recognize what is going well and focuses on that. Instead, we kept trying to shoot our way out of the deficit and it wasn't going. Finally at the end we were working the ball around and looking to get the high percentage paint buckets but it was too late. I thought the South Carolina loss would be the loss to help this team rebound. That wasn't the case. I hope for this team's sake that this is finally the loss that we take the rest of our opponents, ranked or not, seriously. It just blows my mind how everyone in the press asked this team if it was a possible trap game yet the team comes out and plays like that.

Why isn't the post game up at cyclones.com seems like it's always up quick after a win, but not until the next day aftera loss :realmad:

I've honestly never put a lot of stock in message board talk contributing to outcomes of games, but it just seems that every time we get comfortable on here and start talking about something special, this team goes out and ***** the bed. Maybe they do spend some time on here, maybe we should talk **** about them all week, so instead of proving us wrong and ******** the bed, they go win one we weren't expecting.

When we crack top ten it seems like we always drop a game we should win. It happened once last year, it has already happened twice this year. I don't understand it..
