Some of you are far from being sophisticated or knowledgeable when it comes to football. Here are the 2014 NFL combine times for safeties.

Arnaud wasn't bad and Brett Meyer was a pretty good qb. Time will tell on Boyle, but I think he'll be a good one. David Johnson has shown big time skills. There's also been some pretty good skill players over the years that have left the state. I'm not saying Iowa produces a lot of skill players, but probably a few more that deserve offers, Woody being another example.
Silly comment. ISU would take a scholarship acceptance from any one of the guys committed to Iowa this second if they would change their mind. Recruiting is a tough game. Iowa has a slightly easier job of recruiting than ISU because they are the name school between the two of us. ISU however has a little better tie to areas that produce more skilled-athletes so it's no wonder why ISU spends more time in those areas.

Indeed it was... and out of respect for Cyclone fans I have to admit many whom I know thought it was an embarrassing thing for him to do as well. Only the diehard kool-aid drinkers on CyFan saw nothing wrong with it. You have to act like you've been there before even if you haven't. Especially when you're dishing out insults regarding something EVERY program does including yours. He put his foot in his mouth, and anyone with an iota of common sense would admit that.
Well yes it was. But that was also a week or two before signing day and it was clear that Lazard said he would never go to Iowa. Paulsen's dad went to ISU so there is that relationship ISU may be using.
Your not going to hear many on here supporting him doing that, either. He plays to the "everybody is against us" line, sometimes its awesome, sometimes not so much.

Disagree with this. If ISU wanted them, they would have offered. Not saying that those kids wouldn't have eventually gotten an offer, but ISU wasn't as sold on those kids as iowa was to make the early offer. Now maybe having the new staff members delayed ISU's evaluation somewhat, but that didn't stop them from offering other players early on. ISU clearly thinks that Nerness and Good-Jones are the best players in the state. I'm not going to say that iowa is wrong...they do a good job of evaluating in-state talent, especially OLs. But a scholarship offer is the proof that a school wants a player.
How many of the Cyclone recruits put up those kind of numbers? I'm talking the combination of size, strength, and speed. I have no idea, but if you look I have a feeling you'll find very few. I'm guessing you'll find some guys faster, but weaker. Then you'll probably find some bigger guys who are stronger and slower. Boyles numbers are pretty damn impressive for a high school junior.
He didn't say it was wrong of Iowa, just a waste of their time IIRC. Obviously recruiting verbals is something everyone does, including ISU.
It happens everywhere. It wasn't wrong of a Iowa, just hilarious that they thought they could try to get Lazard to switch when he's said negative things about Iowa
Couldnt agree more, the coaches have not offered for a reason. The top 5 guys (minus Meeker) in Iowa all have exactly one BCS offer and thats Iowa. That should tell you something. I mean Meeker is the #1 prospect in Iowa this year and he doesnt even have an Iowa or ISU offer. I cant remember a worst class in the state of Iowa since Rivals has been around.
Yeah, I suppose you could go with the theory that you don't know unless you ask but I probably wouldn't have wasted my breathe on that one.
No, the way you SAID it doesn't make sense. Several of these guys are rated higher than 3/4 of ISU average recruits? So...you can pick the top 3-4 in-state kids and they're better than the average of the bottom 3/4 of ISU's class??? Well, no ****. They're probably higher ranked than the bottom 3/4 of Iowa's class as well.
Outside of the confusing way that you went about stating it, I'll agree that some of those players are higher ranked than the players that ISU has or will end up getting. But, Rivals rankings are not the be all end all. It's obvious that ISU and iowa run different schemes. Who's to say that ISU isn't recruiting other players who fit their scheme better? They have a couple dozen offers out for what will be a small class. Bottom line is that you offer kids who you think have the best chance to contribute to your team. Other recruits you either don't offer or need more evidence (summer camps or fall game film). It's not an exact science. Otherwise you wouldn't see an OL from CMU be the first pick of the draft last year.
