Somebody doesn't like free food and drinks...
listen, I don't like people or spending time with them as much as anybody, but jeezus, lighten up. Take a mgmt class to find out why they work for most.
I’ve actually never participated in one…. just witnessed with my own eyes from employees in our office that have…. they hate one another just as much as ever.
Ah yes, so your one whole example is representative of the population. That makes sense.
We rented the go kart place in Grimes, and I think everyone had a good time. Company golf outings in the past have been fun, though we haven't done that in a long time.

This is a cool idea. I’m going to check this one out, in addition to others.
Depends on the group but reserving some golf simulator bays at Broheims or The Range would be fun too.
Well, yes, it would be implied that a core facet of teambuilding would be working with decent people and being able to actually have fun.

Contact one a local charity or community organization and see if they have a project you can work on together to help the community. Are they aware of an elderly or low income person that needs a handicap ramp built? House painted? Other projects they need help with? Benches for a community park? My guess is not everyone in the company always works with each other - or they have different roles.
Create a "survival" game
Poker tournament
Wine/beer tasting
Rent a location with outdoor space - a large barn, wedding type venue, a large cabin. Have the event there.

Having done and led some team building exercises, your facilitator is pretty key in this process.
If they can't pick up on the cues and help the group deal with them, they are not good at what they do.
That being said, it usually takes more than just a couple of hours to work out issues.
