Idea for gamedays

Or how about a plane with a bannner fly by after every score? The banner could say SCORE!

Or free pizza to the first 50 people at the southern end of the stadium.

Or Cy the mascot ride a four wheeler across and back to the opponents bench. He is very dominant.

Or everyone kisses their date.

Or the smiling face of Dan appears on the Cyclotron.

Instead of standing up to create the wave we could throw ourselves violently around like a tornado just ripped through. Tell me that wouldn't make Sportscenter.

'In other news, fans at Iowa State University seemed to suffer a mass seizure, wildly throwing themselves about. Several were injured by the flailing arms of other spectators. One man even jumped into the bench of the opposing team, rendering several of their players unconscious and unable to play. It is rumored that this may be the result of the so-called 'Hilton Magic' '.

We could all rush the field and run into the goal post. That would make more than just Sportscenter.

Can anyone tell me why the cannon is so much quieter than when I was younger? I mean, have I lost that much of my hearing or did the cannon used to rock the entire stadium compared to the starter's pistol they use now???

We could always bring back the howitzers they used when we played the 1812 overture back in 05...of course they had to put them outside the stadium to avoid killing people due to the sudden pressure changes, and I felt them more then heard them.

Personally, anything to rid ourselves of the 20 minute cheer session with the alumni director would be an improvement. Does anyone feel like that drags on about 15 minutes too long?? and the stupid dance that goes with it?? Lame... Im all for the tornado siren, and mentioned that in a letter to the atheltic dept a few years ago. Honestly, if the city of Ames has a problem with that, I suggest everyone who isnt at the game, or tailgating with a radio/tv, get there *** in the basement and wait out the storm, OR show some team spirit, and get your butt to the stadium. I say fire it up, and make it deafening. Same with the music, crank that up louder, wake some people up in Nevada and Story City.

Im not saying we need pyrotechnics and a laser light show, but something to let everyone know that this is "Cyclone Country" couldn't be better. Im no marketing genius by any means, but from the reception in my seats there, the crowd is tired of the "I" "S" "Uuuuuuuuuuuu" stuff, but thats just the people i sit around in my section, so who knows.

From what I could tell, that was getting cut off pretty quickly.

To go with the first part, just get some tickets folks!

ISU 12, Nebraska 7.

My one-semester roommate is in the picture hanging from the goalpost as they tore it down. Probably the highlight of his life:wideeyed:

My roommate was trying like crazy to get up on the goalposts but had to just be a part of the crew rocking it to the ground. A good friend of ours tripped as he went over the wall from the student section and ended up getting trampled some before he caused a pile-up and was able to get out of there. Heck of a game and heck of a party that night!!!!

Small world huh!!!

I would love the idea of the siren going off, and you guys are right the idea was overruled previously by the city of Ames. However, to my knowledge that was before the advent of the ISUALERT System.

There are now ISUAlert Sirens around the stadiums that are capable of acting as a PA system that would be utilized in the event of an actual tornado warning which would prevent any confusion with any scores in my opinion. I've loved the idea of storm sirens being used if it's done right. Too bad the city of ames will never go for it.

I have cried for a tornado siren to be sounded after every touch down. To bad the City of Ames always poops on the idea, they poop on a lot of good ideas. Siren over the pa system at Jack Trice would not travel all over town. The chants at the begining of the game are okay, the dance is lame. The stadium needs to be louder like rock concert loud!! How about the sound of a freight train, a tornado does sound like a freight train coming. thoughts? freight trains have a high pitched humin sound

Is it too much to ask for a tornado siren to be played every time we score a TD? What do you think? I like the idea.

Do we really score enough to make this an issue in Ames?

Yeah...I said it. I'm probably going to Kinnick for saying that!
