You just get rid of it, why would you risk messing it up or having something tied to the injuries.

He was infatuated with serial killers. He was doing research on how people went about doing crimes. He's basically Hannibal Lector. Needs to be hard evidence shown though. DNA, video footage, witnesses.
I read yesterday that that one of the FBI profilers stated that whoever did this, it was probably not their first kill. Serial killers rarely start out with a crime of this magnitude.
If these were the first/only murders he committed then he's not a serial killer though.

This might be a new topic given the recent Peacock documentary which has me a bit conflicted, but I think most were shocked that Casey Anthony was acquitted.
The post you quoted is right..... this will never be a slam dunk without DNA, a weapon, and/or a motive.
So now it's known that the FBI tracked his cross country trip to PA with his father. Specifically directed Indiana state police to pull him over to obtain video where they could get images of his hands. So at a minimum they were on to him 2+ weeks before arresting him and were watching his every move.
If anything, this makes me a little less suspicious of him or makes him seem like he made a mistake. When my son started grad school, he waited until he had a term under his belt to make sure he liked it before he got new plates. This guy changed them before his first term was up. I suppose it was before they had zeroed in on his car, but it also puts his car in the Washington system, which given proximity they would surely search if they knew they were looking for specific make, model, and color. And if he was worried about the PA plates in the system, by changing plates they know he had PA plates. Doing that may have helped them zero in on him when they had enough tips on the car.
