Idaho killings

My question is: who was the tenant in the other bedroom on the 2nd floor? Unofficial sources say that 2 of the victims were found in the same bed on the 2nd floor. The other 2 victims were found in separate bedrooms on the 3rd floor. The 2 survivors were on the 1st floor.

So no new updates on how the investigation is going? Would be unreal if someone gets away with that.

Yeah, surprised they haven't sold their story to TMZ by now for $1M. Guess they must be halfway decent human beings.

incorrect: the boyfriend and girlfriend were in the same bed on the 2nd floor where the killer probably came in at. The two girls were in the same bed on the 3rd floor. came out yesterday. 2 victims had defensive wounds. So killer walked in, killed one and then the other person woke up and tried to defend themselves is what it is starting to sound like.

It’s almost unreal they left no evidence after killing 4 people. No DNA linked to anyone yet. I have heard of the perfect murder but 4 people at once without getting DNA on anything and matching it to someone? Hopefully the cops didn’t ***** this investigation.

I don't think that's totally correct. There are just starting to get lab results back. However, if the person isn't in the DNA database they won't get a match. They should be able to determine certain traits (e.g. race). With this information, they can now go to persons-of-interest to collect DNA samples. Of course many of these persons of interest could have been in the apartment for purely innocent reasons.

Unless you hold certain jobs or have been arrested for certain crimes, there isn't much chance that your DNA is in the DNA database.

They (investigators) have been getting much better at using things like 23 and me and ancestry.com to track down possible DNA leads but that all takes time.

Or if you have provided it to anyone for genetic testing

Media reports are it was a party house, with several parties every week, with numerous people knowing the key pad entry code. So, there would be DNA present from every party attendee, and massive amounts of comingled blood through much of the house. Plus the dog tracking throughout the house, contaminating everything.

There's a floor plan posted online. Killer would seem to have been familiar with the residence, habits of the inhabitants, and with the dog. Logically, seems like the male was killed first, biggest threat and closest to point of entry. GF woke up, had defensive wounds before expiring. Then proceeded to the third floor, killed one girl, second also had defensive wounds.

Who fits all of the familiarity and may have had motive? Seems like the ex-BF of the one 3rd story girl, and you can speculate as to a possible motive beyond just the break-up. And why he didn't answer his phone when the 2 girls called. BUT, his DNA legitimately would be in the apartment, so need far more evidence than that. That's the enormous challenge for LEO, tie things down enough to limit plausible explanations for evidence at the scene, for reasons other than the attack.

But lots of others have equally compelling hypotheses, to be sure.

Or sent it into a 23 and me type place. They have been used before.
