Idaho killings

So, this dog that was skinned a few weeks before in that area. Apparently the dog was also filleted and the meat was neatly placed next to the dog. Sounds like a big sharp knife. The old folks let their dog out and it never came back. The old couple also found a mutilated rabbit (scalped with ears removed) near their property before the dog incident.

Serial killer?

Can’t remember where I read it but Idaho police said they were unrelated

Super super creepy but I watched enough criminal minds to know that's a hell of a fast escalation. I'd still want to find that dog skinner because that's probably a 16 yr old boy they want to get some help for asap.

As others have eluded to on here, it is absolutely wild/sketchy that such brutal murders didn’t leave any sort of footprints/trail/etc.

That part stinks.

While this is sad, it is not a 'per-capita' statistic. alarson is correct.
Show me a per capita on mass shootings/murder that breaks it down by year. Due to trouble with definitions and differences in reporting/collecting data on this, it is difficult to get a per capita rate, but the incidence has a very clear upward trend.

1669124116589.pngI guess timespan is the important element. Since 2014 there has been a slight growth, but since the beginning, it's been a dramatic downward trend. The upward may appear more dramatic because of the media exposure. I recall an entire family of 5 people 50 years ago in my neighborhood losing their lives to a nut. But no one outside of the immediate reporting area ever saw the news. But, today this type of tragedy is megaphoned to everyone.

This is the rate of violent crimes which I agree have generally decreased over time, not the specific category of mass murders which are increasing.
