I wish there was a way to

I live 2 hours away and work for a college athletic department, requiring me to be at all home events and do work from all road events. Makes it hard to attend another University's athletic events when you are doing the same schedule. Have no fear, I'm watching gametracker on my phone and getting text alerts as well.

I'm probably labeled a hater and until this season I never missed more than a game or two a year. I've missed a few more this year but mostly for legit reasons. (Illness mostly)

I've watched or listened to every game, except Mercer. I'm not a hater or homer. I'm a realist.

Haven't attended a game. But I haven't made any bad comments towards the team or coach so this is not directed at me. But I am happy to be part of this thread.

If you went to almost every home game for 6+ years but now you live 250 miles away from Hilton Coliseum so you can only make a couple a year, and instead watch all the rest on TV or listen on the radio.... does that make you less of an ISU fan somehow?

I am certainly not a hater though some people probably think I am since I don't blame everything from world hunger to Global Warming on Eustachy or Morgan.

I think that I'd agree, to some extent, that viewing the games in person you get a better perspective of everything that is happening on the floor. As well, several times I've heard people say, "Just got home from the game and watched the replay..." so I think that either and both offer added perspective. Television can offer focus, at the expense of seeing the dynamics of the game.

No tickets for me. Not at this time in my life, sorry.

I think the only thing that people who do not go to the games should not be able to complain about is attendance.

Just because you don’t physically attend the games down not mean you can’t watch them on TV. I would argue that sometimes watching a game on TV gives you a better perspective as to what is going on that does actually attending the game.

What's funny is that most people think they are realists, because realism is a matter of perspective.

I've said it before - I don't think there's much ground separating the optimists from the pessimists. It's the tone and the language that causes catfights.

im in WDM so sometimes i dont feel like the 40 min drive there for some weak non conference oppontents.. skipped 3 i think. missed only 1 conference game because of other things going on

All you have to do is see the in-game threads that go on here to see just exactly who is not attending the games.

I do not have season tickets, but have gone to 6 games this year. I am not a hater, but am concerned with our mens bball program as progress has not happened. Also, I listen or watch the games on television every game even in football and follow recruiting closely. I would love to get season tickets for football, mens, womens bball and wrestling, but cannot afford it right now, so how does this make me less of a fan?

Hey, First Post.

Hi Guys,

As a student and alum, I have had season tickets for 23 years (my wife just for the last 18), missing about 30 games total during that time. 1 hour 40 minute one way drive and there is not a snow storm that will keep us away. The only game we regularly miss is the middle one of the early tournament.

If I can't be in Hilton to yell my thoughts on a regular basis, I would go crazy!

While I am at it, for those that leave early, what are you thinking? and for the students that are leaving early, they should take your tickets away and ban you for life. There......now I feel better:smile:.

Don't get me started on the morons that stand around the concourse to watch the last five minutes. Sometime I'd like to borrow Flag Guy's flag and run around the concourse smacking them all in the head with it.

Not really. With cell phones these days, someone cold easily write on CF during the games. Especially at halftime.

I'm pretty sure 90%+ of the ingame thread posters are not at the game and would not be tough to figure out who I bet considering some of them post almost every other play.

actually know how many on here actually attend Iowa State basketball games. I have a feeling that many on here (and even more on the other boards) don't actually grace us with their presence at Hilton on a regular basis. It would make reading a lot of the "MCDERMOTT MUST WIN NEXT YEAR OR ELSE" and "WHY AREN'T WE PLAYING (fill in the blank) MORE?" and "MCDERMOTT NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO YELL AT THE REFS" posts a little more tolerable.

I had season tix for 16 years. I ditched 'em when the Amazing Pollardini and Gary "I call the shots" Thompson decided we could do better than Wayne Morgan. Glad I did. What a joke of a program they've managed to turn us into. And I still watch as many games as I can when we're on. I will always support the athletes who put on the I-State uniform, but my patience and pocketbook are wearing thin on the powers that be that think they know more than everyone else. One more year is our battle cry. It's sad.
