Hoiberg’s first team started off the season playing well, and were competitive in most games in conference, losing a ton of close ones.
They may be better at winning via means other than offense, but I don’t see different levels of buy in. This kind of seems similar to the “they don’t sweat enough” stuff from back then.Fair point on first year for a coach.

Imo the players were bought in under Hoiberg. The style and approach were different though.
Fingers crossed this is TJ, rather than his SDSU and UNLV, and he can coach both approaches. Better defense, yet on offense a similar analytical based mindset, blended with a similar green light positivity (which is a supernight line when some guys aren’t necessarily good shooters). I doubt he is the tactician Hoiberg was, but some of the fundamentals have been as good
