I thought this was pretty cool...

Kept looking for Larry E at some of those workouts. Oh yeah, and Georges is a gem.

I wish there was as much filming technology when Tinsley told him he came to ISU to play basketball, not run track (paraphrasing).

This is really good insight into how things are run.

Sounds like Conditt was asked to set the tone for the team at the beginning of the season. Really awesome to see how he's progressed. Love hearing that he held that trophy for the entire bus ride and air ride back to Ames.

The other episodes are up too...have they been posted?

#4 has a lot of good stuff from Brockington.

Seems more intense than Hoiberg and the team this early seems way more bought in.
He’s more demonstrative for sure.

What do you mean by way more bought in?
Hoiberg’s first team started off the season playing well, and were competitive in most games in conference, losing a ton of close ones.

Fair point on first year for a coach.

Mainly referring to 11-12 and 12-13.

Although the wins in New York took some grit.

They may be better at winning via means other than offense, but I don’t see different levels of buy in. This kind of seems similar to the “they don’t sweat enough” stuff from back then.

Imo the players were bought in under Hoiberg. The style and approach were different though.

Fingers crossed this is TJ, rather than his SDSU and UNLV, and he can coach both approaches. Better defense, yet on offense a similar analytical based mindset, blended with a similar green light positivity (which is a supernight line when some guys aren’t necessarily good shooters). I doubt he is the tactician Hoiberg was, but some of the fundamentals have been as good

Ok.

Thanks for posting! What a great experience! From the blood, sweat, and tears of pre-season workouts to traveling together to the Big Apple, winning that first game, Thanksgiving dinner together, winning the second game and the tournament. The hard work is paying off. Memories forever boys!

There is a saying, "the only easy day is yesterday". Not the greatest analogy but these guys play for each other. I hope they keep practicing and playing hard. I'm impressed.
