How far can Iowa go?

There has not been a year go by, that I can remember, where Iowa has not lost a game they should have won. That would be every game from here on out. It is not lack of confidence, it is an established pattern by KF coached teams.
2019 and 2015 both are years Iowa didn’t lose to anyone they shouldn’t have.

Weird how Iowa fans lack confidence in their own team finishing the rest of the regular season undefeated. Any loss is going to take a really really bad performance by Iowa.

Oh I love this team but this was never supposed to be our year with such a green OL, green DL, new WRs needing to step in and be the guy, Petras needing much improvement. I thought #18 to start the season was about right and was just hoping to pull out a top-20 finish, top-15 in an ideal world. Never dreamed they'd be the #2 team in the country halfway through the season against the #10 SoS. There will most certainly be at least one letdown week, I'm sure of that. But it's been fun so far.

One guy hyped up the opponents...and the point about Wisconsin's defense is legit - I am sure you would agree - because they are #2 in yards per game and ISU is #3, so that has to be a stat you see some merit in right???

Talking points of this board:

1. Iowa City is full of epic level racist losers and they will never get another AA recruit again.
2. #2 Iowa is a terrible team, opponents gift them wins every week, every team they play is awful and even if ranked, they are overrated.
3. #2 Iowa's starters would not start at 95% of the positions for ISU.

Taking notes from Iowa fans.
1. Iowa State sucks. They lose too many close games and are 3-2 overall with one loss against #2 Iowa. Nebraska is good because at 3-4 they are at least losing close games and have a good defense that managed to hold the fighting Illini to 30 points.
2. Iowa won’t go undefeated cause they have murderers row coming up with Purdue, Northwestern, and a Barry Alvarez led Wisconsin team in Madison.
3. Iowa State sucks cause clownz.

I'd say Iowa is good and Iowa State is good.

Both will be in their conference championship games.

Hopefully both win those games but won't be favored to.

There are fans of both teams that do not represent their collective fan bases well.

Are you done yet?

I don't think ISU will get to the CCG.

From this point forward I'd be happy with 3 conference losses.

Fair enough.

I agree that with Clifford healthy, Penn State wins straight up. PSU had a 14 point lead halfway through the 2nd quarter. If Clifford stays in the game, Kinnick empties out early 4th quarter.

LOL. Penn St. was ahead 17-10 when the backup QB stepped on the field for the first time. Clifford has a 93 QB rating when he left the game. Heck Lil Tua looked lights out and had a 7-3 lead after the first few drives for Maryland, how did that turn out for them?

Iowa has the #10 strength of schedule at this point in the season. When all is said and done, Iowa and Iowa State will end up with very similar SOS, as they typically do.
Out of curiosity I just looked at last 10 years.
Iowa State SOS averaged 14.5, 9 out of 10 years in top 25 hardest schedule.
Iowa SOS averaged 38.8, 1 out of 10 years in top 25 hardest schedule.

Like you said, almost identical schedule difficulty.

edit: I accidently grabbed 2010 instead of 2011. I have fixed those and the numbers are even more spread.
