Well, for one, this is a rivalry forum so of course this is where Hawk fans post because it’s where they are supposed to post on this site. Funny how that works.
Second, this in-state rival forum is the busiest forum on this site year round. Think about that. The busiest forum on CycloneFanatic is the one where the Hawkeyes are involved. It really doesn’t get anymore little brother than that.

I get that. But Iowa has certainly earned that #2 ranking. But are they the second best team in CFB? No way.

Agreed. It's the age old question of do you go by eye test and who you think is the best or do you go by resume.
Iowa has won every game they’ve played so far. They have done what they needed to do to earn their ranking.
They aren't any worse than maybe 5th. Who the hell is so much better than them? Cincinnati, Oklahoma? You are running out of teams to say are so much better than Iowa. Everyone keeps losing but them dude.
Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State would be three teams, all better than EIU. Now are you talking about teams that currently undefeated that is a totally different criteria.
I would think EIU is about 8 to 12 in terms of the best teams in college football. They defeated Penn. State, which is all you do, but if they meet again on a neutral field or in Happy Valley, Penn. State would be favored. I think both UT and OU would give them fits trying to out score each.
EIU is undefeated, got a bump at the start of the season by defeating an over ranked Indiana team and a struggling ISU team at the start of the year.
Can they keep it up, not sure why not, they will be favored in every game until the championship game,, this season will play out just like 2015, lose the Big 10 championship game and then get smoked in their bowl game.
Their offense is not just strong enough to drive the length of the field over and over again without being set up on the opponents side of the 50 over and over again. Yesterday they rushed for 110 yards, and throw for 195, so they were at 300 total yards from the offense. That will not be near enough when they play better offenses in college football, before their game yesterday they were ranked 119 in total offense.
A lot of posters love the past and hypotheticals. They should rename this site Cyclone Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda’s.
