How far can Iowa go?

Auburn is legit, some ridiculous players and athletes. I think it's been pretty clear how far off pre-season rankings were this year.

Do you really think the Big 12 is anywhere close to the B1G?
I agree Indiana definitely isn’t a Top 25 team.

At this point in the season, I actually think Iowa could beat Ohio St in a title game.
Ohio St was only up a TD with 3 mins to play at home vs an awful Tulsa.
Giving up all those pts to Minny and Oregon shows their defense is bad.

Not this year, it's been #2 overall behind SEC on average since it was formed though. I don't expect that to continue after this big realignment though.

It's been the best basketball conference by the numbers pretty much every year since dead weight Nebraska left.

A lot of people just can't do the math. They see 10 teams and they are so bad at math they expect the exact same sum total of ranked teams, bowl invites, NCAA tourney wins etc...as leagues with 14 or 15 teams. In basketball especially the B12 is easily #1 per team and in terms of depth.

Agree. Others have just tumbled from way too high spots, or are sitting at a still too high spot. OU at #4 is just silly after Nebby and Tulane both took them to the brink.

Oklahoma, Clemson and Ohio State certainly receive the benefit of the doubt in the AP. Interesting to see how the committee will use the “eye test” for those three squads.

they’ll make up completely new rules to help Ohio State like they do most seasons. It’s their prime directive.

Where would you rank Iowa based on their resume thus far?

On resume alone they would be #4 or #5 in the country. I would have Alabama at #2 and Oregon at #1. Oregon has wins at Ohio State and Fresno at home. Those two wins are better than any other two wins for everyone else.

OSU looks pretty trash so far. Iowa would definitely give them a run. Too bad we’ll never get to see it happen.

At this point, I'm not convinced Ohio State makes it that far. If I had to place a bet today, I'd probably bet on Penn State winning the East. Ohio State's defense is bad, but I think that for all the talent they have at receiver, those guys play pretty soft. Penn State's defense will cause problems for Ohio State, and good luck trying to contain Jahan Dotson with that defense.

Stroud is out this weekend too. Sounds like a shoulder issue. Doesn't bode well, unless a backup steps in and sets the world on fire, which at tOSU is entirely possible.

Without developing some offense, probably not conf. champs and surely not CFP bound.

*Note that I am neither stating nor implying any claim of superiority by Iowa State, though that won't stop any Hawks from bringing it up

Who gives a ****?

100% lose to maryland psu and wisconsin. No doubt. Beyond that. ?
iowa is not the 5th best team.

However. Don’t tell me how “easy” their schedule is because psu wisconsin osu maryland idk who else would beat isu baylor osu blah blah.
OH BTW!!!!!
When nebraska gets to the big 10 they will dominate the big 10
