How far can Iowa go?

Isn’t calling Iowa the “Fake ID” a rip on the opponents they have played so far? Fake ID was Cowherds way of ripping on their SOS . Iowa played ISU so saying that is ripping on the Cyclones calling them a weak opponent.

Yeah Iowa’s defense is top notch and their offense is horrible so there will be several close games. Penn State, Wisconsin, and Iowa’s thorn Northwestern will all be close games. This maybe their most talented defense under Ferentz and it is good enough to carry the weak offense. Offense needs to show up and win a couple. Defense is good enough to win 6 games in the West alone. So I’m guessing 9 wins in their floor and they have the potential to win 12 given the schedule. tOSU I doubt Iowa could beat but that defense is good enough to slow them down

Are you talking about the freshman Cooper DeJean? He is not a P5 QB (unless some P5 team switches to option like it's the 70s). Did you watch him in the state title game last year? He was throwing from his hip after like 5 seconds. That works against 1A high school players
Curious, is Dekkers a P5 QB?

I love when fans of opponents who have been dominated by your school get radical as obviously you have. It's the #1 reason the game is played.
It is under our skin. Judging by your user name, you've seen the great, almost elite seasons ruined by us, or by a weak schedule where you idoits think you are great. I'm mean seriously at least brasky has some.

Without developing some offense, probably not conf. champs and surely not CFP bound.

*Note that I am neither stating nor implying any claim of superiority by Iowa State, though that won't stop any Hawks from bringing it up

The painful truth is that outside of the QB position, they are a very complete football team. I think someone: Maryland, Penn State, or Wisconsin gets them this year. Geez I think Nebraska could give them a game given what they did against OU today. But Penn St I would bet money beats them this season, they have serious athletes on both sides of the ball as they normally do.

The key with OSU is how much do they improve during the season. Three games in and they've probably been as least impressive as an OSU team in many years through 3 games.

Alabama, Oklahoma, and tOSU look more vulnerable than previous years. Even their vulnerable teams are Top 10. Guess they’ll just have to play the games. No one wins on paper.

Iowa tends to get better as a season goes on but that offense won’t do much. The West is underrated because I feel the defenses are better than what people give them credit for. Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota held tOSU pretty well until a broken plays. Iowa has looked great except for a few broken plays vs Kent State.

Iowa had maybe already faced the best offense in ISU. Defense side of the ball though there are some tough outs. 9 wins is fair for a floor.

Their offense is problematic for them to advance very far. Eventually they will run into a defense as good or better than theirs and they will need to have the ability to score points on offense. Maybe they are keeping their attack on ice until Penn St. Seems to me the Ferentz's are trolling their fans. The more they demand an exciting offense, the closer to the vest they play. Wouldn't put it past the captain who seems to a a vindictive d*ck at times. I've heard him get very sarcastic when he talks about the "expertise" of Hok fans.

We shot ourselves in the foot too many times. Your offense had 23 yds in the second half. Don't act like we didn't hand that game to you.
I know some of you are new to football since your team has been such garbage for several decades but the number one statistic determining wins and losses is turnovers. Iowa consistently has put a premium on turnover margin, ISU for whatever reason isn’t executing that part of the game, particularly against Iowa.

Dumb luck. At least in the case of this last game.
