How concerned should we be about the offense?

Kempt stares down every receiver... Rarely makes a second read. Also seems like the checkdown is sometimes his first read. We can continue to win with him, but he is going to have to work on this.

He is also completely immobile and if we keep having injuries on he O-line, he is going to get killed. Some of those sacks he doesn't look like he is even trying to escape. I imagine this is because he is trying to maintain ball security but there has to be a happy medium.
Yep. He's far from horrible but I'm starting to see why he hasn't been able to start anywhere else either. That being said I think he'll still get us to 7-8 wins

Tip of the cap to the defense this season.

However, we have to acknowledge that pocket passers don't put up offensive numbers in places like Ames or Manhattan.

Even when we have one of the top WR's and top RB's in the country in their arsenal. Good luck trying to run this type of crud with a pocket passer when Lazard and Montgomery are gone.

Especially not when 9 of 10 Big 12 offenses are a spread with a pocket passing QB, and thus 10 out of 10 Big 12 defenses are built to stop that type of offense because they are 4-2-5 with 210 pound LBs.

With that said, CMC needs to be held accountable for moving Lanning to LB and just gifting Trailer Park as starting QB without making him compete for it. We could be undefeated competing to make the CFP.

And before all of you dumba$$es who don't understand football try to rip me apart, just remember that long term CMC agrees with me and disagrees with you about how to win in Ames.

Yes, CMC agrees with me and disagrees with you because otherwise he would bring in a bunch of pocketing passing QBs like Nathan Stanley instead of his last 3 QB commits Devon Moore, Re-al Mitchell, and decommit Dwan Mathis.

Unlike you folks, I am excited about the next Seneca Wallace in Ames, but with actually dialing up QB runs instead of just broken pass plays.

And for all you real dipsticks who want to point out Nathan Stanley being ok today...I don't disagree, maybe being a power-i team in a conference where 9 of 10 teams are spread pocket passer, maybe that would be ok.

And for all of you totally clueless fools who will tell me about 2 wins vs then top 5 teams and think I should just just get all fat, happy, and stupid like you...

And not expect continuous improvement...like in 2011 after Rhoads blew out Tech in Lubbock, then beat KU, then upset #2 Okie State.

Well you type of people are the worst and the reason for 130 years of terrible football at ISU.

While I'm certainly loving the results the team has been having is the success sustainable with how little output the offensive side of the ball is producing? Only averaged 335 yards per game during conference play.
Be real Concerned next week against okie state. Will probably take 35 to win next week.

We are going to drop to 8th in scoring offense in conference play at the of today. Quibble over the reasons and blame but the offense is awful and we will be hard pressed to finish better than 6-6. At least people will stop talking about giving Campbell a yuge raise cause all the big school will be gunning for him. They will not be gunning for him. Maybe wanting Jon Heacock., not our HC at this point.

Yes, patience with this staff until we aren’t starting a backup qb and overwhelmed Olinemen. Defending this staff and Park isn’t being negative.

Kempt got way too much credit for this team going from 2-2 to 6-2. Is that negative? Only to those that looking at the story more than his place. Put your head in the sand, but your weakest links are why you lose. In general that’s QL and QB play for us. When we win they may play better than today, but it’s more that the other units just played well enough to overcome the limitations at QB and OL.
Defend Park, thats cool. Comparing Kempt and Park, is like me comparing my current wife to my first wife. My current is not as good about somethings but is better at others. To use my first wife as a benchmark in the areas she was good at, isn't fair or logical, because she is no longer an option. Not the best example, but I hope you can see what I mean.

CMC’s market value isn’t going down because his offense is limited due to having a bad OL and he’s QB a walkon level arm. They see how competitive he has us with those fundamental flaws and they think he’ll do very well with their talent.

Bad analogy.

Some wanted to think Kempt was the magic answer and used revisionist history to support that. The team improved to cover Park’s absence, but not enough to not drop a game or two

All I'll say is that you're insuferable.

^ Moron who excuses scoring 7 pts in Ames vs Texas, 14 pts in Ames vs TCU, and 16 pts vs the #67 team in defensive efficiency, WV. Thank God Campbell agrees with me and not you in terms of the QBs be is recruiting. Pocket passing doesn't work in Ames.

Chicken Little much? We will not be finishing 6-6.

People who thought we were going to win out were obviously not accounting for other teams catching on to Kempt and keying on Montgomery, but we should be in good shape for our remaining games. If our halftime adjustments would have come a bit sooner, we would all be singing a different tune at this point.

You got anything but name calling and "ooh, look at me, I am so smart and Campbell agrees with me?".. JFC, what are you, like 12 years old or something?

BTW, since you are reading impaired, I was not at all talking about Campbell's QB recruits, was talking about you just going on like junior high kid throwing out insults. I am not even sure I disagree with you regarding QB's, I do disagree with you being a juvenile insult comic.

The problem is run blocking. Been bad all year. Any blocking and Montgomery would have 1500 yards by now. That said, we are a good team. Still possible to win out. Will be very tough however.

Be happy I am able to provide accurate info.

Why? You are kind of being an ******* to the players on our team. And whoever is telling you this is throwing the players under the bus. Not a good look by staff or coaches.

I didn't get to watch the second half but I'll assume it was more of the same from the last 3 games. We're very limited with Kempt at QB and it was only a matter of time before teams started to figure him out.

We've played outstanding despite his short comings, and the team rallied to have a great October, but we're going to have to REALLY step it up to score some points down the stretch. Play calling is limited by circumstance, not by design.

Kempt played really well, as did the whole team. Unfortunately we struggled in the red zone and the refs didn’t feel like calling interference any more.

27-40, 249 yards, 1 td 1 int.

That’s a respectable line, whether it’s your fourth year starting or 5th game. No idea what would make you happy (other than an opportunity to be negative).
