How about that Thomas kid?

Niang was at fault on most of the rotations. Thomas had to cover two guys because Georges decided he was too tired to make an attempt.

I think he is just thinking about it too much. Plus, I don't think the kid is very good at creating his own shot at all.....he probably never had to do that in high school because a lot of the plays were probably set up to get him an open shot. I really think the team just needs to run some plays for him that get him a catch and shoot type shot. Like many 3 point shooters, he is much better when he gets the ball while in motion and can pull up behind a screen or whatever and shoot. Naz can shoot that way too, but he can also hit them when he is just standing in a spot and going straight up. I don't think that is Matt's strength at all. Hopefully, it will continue to improve.

Why does everyone keep saying they hope he finds his stroke? After this game he is shooting 35.6% from 3. Not too bad for a Freshman. I don't think he ever lost his stroke.

What I think you all mean is I wish he was Tyrus McGee and could shoot 47% and shoot it more. For the love of god, stop the hate.

His role is not that of a scorer this year. SMH, some of you just want something to cry about even when we are undefeated.

Great to see Thomas be aggressive. He really does make a lot of heady plays out there. I think his off the ball defense is pretty good. He had some nice weak side coverages when we were 3/4 fronting. Seems like he is starting to distribute well too.

It has been an occurrence all year. Techs ball reversal has a little to do with it. No defensive awareness has the rest to do with it. That's what happens when you never play man to man in high school.
Disagree. Matt's awareness and help D is very good. If you watch him he is very effective in closing driving lanes and bailing out his teammates.

There was one possession where his guy drove the ball and Matt steered him towards help but for some reason Naz didn't collapse down and Tech made an easy layup.

Matt isn't a lights out on the ball defender but understands defensive concepts. I think when "his" man scores many automatically chalk it up as Matt's breakdown but the actual breakdown is his teammates not helping where he is directing them.

Must be your first game of the year.

I don't understand all the comments about Thomas needing help with his confidence. I've never thought he looked like he lacked confidence, with the possible exception of the end of the BYU game.

He only passes up good shots when a teammate has a better one, and really hasn't taken a bad shot all year. Naz's shooting has been a bit better so far and his defense is better, but Thomas is better in all other aspects of the game and has a higher ceiling.

I look forward to the point in the future when Thomas becomes a board favorite.

Me to and I PROMISE I will eat every negative Ive said, cause I want this kid to succeed!!!! Found CW comments in his 3 up 3 down section interesting, kind of reading between the line I saw that he' been waiting for #21MT to break out to.

He will be a lot better all around player than tyrus when he leaves here, and tyrus is one of my all time favorite cyclones.
