Hoiberg Press Conference

thank goodness it is over. Hopefully, he doesn't make too many appearances at football games.

Yes because he's such a terrible alum who really put a blackeye on ISU athletics...

Count me out. At least now...maybe I'll warm to the idea over time. I can't imagine a new coach (if it isn't Otz) would be real thrilled about the idea either. He'll be battling Fred's legacy for quite awhile as it is without inviting him back into the building.

Hoiberg should never be allowed to work the sidelines in Hilton ever again. He made his choice... it's time to cut ties.

of course not..that's why it's painful.

Like I said, I'm so happy that the hoiberg era happened. But that doesn't mean I can't be ****** that it is over.

Eh, if we have an opening and he's not otherwise employed i'd take him back. But it has to be for the long run that time, no tiny 500k buyout.

I'd love to go to a Bulls game in Ames. Does anyone else remember when Fred played for the Bulls they had an exhibition at Hilton? It was a blast.

I agree, but apparently we're not allowed to think that way.

Am I really being an *** to Hoiberg when I say I don't think we can ever truly replace him?

I don't see how anybody can be overly bitter at Fred for having the press conference. Like he said, he might not have done it if he had known so many Iowa media were going to Chicago. So. he could have cancelled it, but he didnt. Thought he was pretty receptive to answering all the questions, including the several on TJ. Did a good job of supporting TJ as a coach, but at the same time not tipping anything as to he'd be the hire. There was alot of people he could have specifically thanked or other questions to answer, but the media seemed to be intent to make this about TJ, unfortunately, but expected I guess. Afterall, it is what's next and its a big hire. Was hoping someone would have asked him if he was surprised at the pool of candidates as if it could be splashier.

My personal theory is he'll never coach here again unless Chicago goes incredibly bad and we have an opening. But I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him come back someday when he's done coaching, perhaps as an athletic director.
