Hoiberg Press Conference

I'm convinced some fans on here really don't understand the magnitude and opportunity of the NBA...

Sure they do. They also understand that Fred made his choice and would prefer not to hear more about it. The Hoiberg chapter at ISU is over... let's leave it in the past where it belongs.

So you're saying you would never go back to your super hot ex that bought you tons of good stuff and took you tons of good trips? I would jump right back in to bed.

Nope, I'd take her back in a heart beat. She was hella good in the sack.

then they have the right to stay out of these threads...not too hard.

Some people on here are just giant dicks. You can be mad that he is gone but he doesn't deserve any of this hate. People saying he shouldn't come back for football games are crazy.. he is an alum for God's sake! He can and will do whatever he wants and will get a giant applause if he is acknowledged regardless of what your opinion is. End rant.

100% agree!

As I said earlier this week, I think it was a dumb idea to come back and do a press conference. I feel even more that way now."Hey guys.... I love it here, but I did look into numerous other jobs over the years, just so you know. I'm a hot commodity. Hopefully someone can come in here and do great things here, just like I did. I'll even treat you guys to Bulls exhibition game right here in Hilton so you can all watch me coach one more time. Wouldn't that be awesome?". "Oh, and just when I should be putting in a ton of work to get ready for the grueling NBA season this fall, I'm going to come back here for some football games, so you can all get to see me again, AND so I can still do all the things I loved doing while I was here, without actually having to coach your basketball team anymore. It will just be so great for all of us, right?". Wrong Fred. Just go and do your NBA thing. You have chosen to leave this university behind, so just go. Go make all your money and live happily ever after. It's like you love everything about Iowa State, except coaching their basketball team. You quit on these guys before accomplishing basically any of your goals. Go live your "dream". It's like college kids that go back home every weekend and hang out at their old high school. Don't do it.... just move on.
I just have to laugh at the bitter, creepy vibes some of you put out on here. Believe me, you are not a very good representation of the Cyclone fanbase as a whole. Especially those of us in Ames that have known him for a long time. Cut ties with him? Comparing him to an ex-girlfriend? You are some sad and pathetic people. Maybe get a new hobby? Maybe don't hang out on here so much? I don't know. Just time to rethink your priorities.
I don't know Fred. If I did I would probably be very happy for him. But since I don't know him my loyalty lies with Iowa state and this whole thing has hurt Iowa state. If this was fredhoibergfanatics then it would be different!

After she slept with the T-Wolves, Warriors, Magic, Pelicans, and finally settled on banging the Bulls for 5 years? No thanks.

Agreed. NBA is the biggest stage in the sport. I feel like anyone that doesn't have an NBA team, in their state especially, can't comprehend that. It's no fault of their own, they just don't know.

If I prefer to not hear more about it the first place I am going to hide is a thread titled Hoiberg Press Conference.

The thing I found odd that he said in both his Chicago and Ames press conference is how important it was to get Paige through high school. Am I the only one that would think screw you if I were Jack? He's going to be a junior.

It is very obvious to me that Fred never had to make a move like this when he was his boys age. I would love to know what the stats would be if you were to ask kids of that age that had to move, how many were happy they did. I would believe happy would be very low percentage.

I would hope that all of his boys are happy with this decision, and Carol too, but I'm getting strong vibes that they are not all that thrilled with it.

Sure, they are going to support their husband/Dad and his lifelong dream of coaching at the highest level, but that doesn't mean they have to like that decision. I think his boys really like living around Ames and their grandparents too.

I just hope it all works out well for Fred and his family. I hope in this case that the grass is actually greener on the the other side. I just have my doubts.

By the logic of some on here, people should be ticked off TJ is back.

Oh, FFS. It's not like Fred came over to anyone's house and peed on their dog or anything. College and pro athletics are a business. Fred made a business decision. I get that we all have loyalties, and Fred also does - to both teams.

Please enlighten us. All most people see is half empty stadiums and coaches changing teams every 3 years. Hell Chicago doesn't even know the name of the coach they just fired. Is it Tib or is it Thib? They're like hawkeye fans talking about FerENTZ.

sports is a business. If you don't explore all options, especially if it is to reach a goal you have set for yourself, that is terrible business. to take it personally is petty.

You are getting vibes about how Fred`s family feels? How thoughtful of you.

Some of us are getting vibes about how you feel about this too. Butt hurt.
