Hawkeyes starting safety transferring

Iowa has been the better program for a long time now. I do think ISU has a good chance to take that spot over soon as long as CMC stays. He's an elite coach and I know you guys want him gone soon

Lol. Elite. How do you define that? Top five in the country? Top ten?

Comcast has never, at least to my recollection, included the BTN to subscribers on the basic package if the subscriber doesn’t live in the conference footprint. Comcast currently doesn’t want to put it on the basic package anywhere, while the BTN won’t agree to that. We will see how that works out. At any rate, the BIg Ten has a substantially better TV package than the Big 12. At least partially, maybe mostly, because of the idiots in Austin.

Not true. I read a yahoo sports article that said they pulled it just recently and are considering pulling it from non requesting parties soon.

The TV revenue Gap between the B1G and Big 12 is driven by 3rd tier rights aka BTN. Whether you choose to admit or not the BTN is losing tier 3 value due to cord cutters. In other words adding Maryland and Rutgers did absolutely NOTHING for the conference.

So you agree that Iowa is, right now, the better football program?

Well he's getting his name thrown around for a top 5 job in the country so take it how you want to. You don't hear Kirk Ferentz's name getting thrown around for any job

CBS sports. Ferentz ranked higher

Athlon Ferentz ranked higher

247 ranks neither in top 25

College football news has him at seven, but umm, that may be just a tad high.

That judgement is premature in my opinion. Maryland could get very good relatively quickly. If the BTN is unable to retain primary carry rights in the footprint, it will hurt. If Maryland gets good, it will help biggley.

At a minimum, those two teams allow coaches from places like a iowa to tell recruits we could come back to your home town area.

Cool. There's a reason Ohio State only wants one of them

Link to anything other than rampant speculation that tOSU wants Campbell? You don’t think they would want a bigger name? I think he would be a tremendous fit, but it’s about three years too early for him to make that move.

Here are the latest odds I saw. 8 of the names on this list are between 54-66 years old FWIW

You really don't get it. Maryland or Rutgers being "good" had nothing to do with adding them to the conference or the financial position of the conference moving forward. The B1G brought those teams on board for cable subscriptions and eyeballs. Of the two though Rutger is obviously the biggest miss. It still shocks me how badly Delany missed on the NY market.

How in the actual **** is Harbaugh even on that list? You'd literally have to have a "THAT'S JIM HARBAUGH'S MUSIC!" WWE moment at the press conference. Complete with metal folding chair attack on someone.

The only thing less likely would be if CMC leaves and ISU's next coach is Hayden Fry.

Personally, I think Stoops at 14/1 is a real value play...

But Maryland being good means more subscribers clamoring for BTN games. Strong teams on the field leads directly to more viewers and more money. That’s the financial position. I really think Rutgers was a basketball play, not a football play. Trying to get players out of NYC. At any rate, there is no indication that payouts to schools are going to take a hit. You’re projecting. Might be right might be wrong.

There is no such thing as a basketball play. Football is everything when it comes to money.
