Hawkeye fans are scared

LOL! Arkansas was 11-2 last year. Good luck CPR.

Don't care about last year. Arkansas has an undefeated national championship season in its history. 11-2 ain't nothing. Kurt coached the Hawg eyes to the same record, so it cannot be too difficult. Rhoads is going to surpass Frank Broyles' Arkansas, not Petrino's or Nutt's.

Who is Kurt?

I agree. He only needs to average 10 wins over the next 15 years and he would be right there. It will almost take care of itself.

Is this serious? No way..............:swoon:

I think BigLame was the one "higher than Arkansas" when he made that comment.....

I'm not saying we'll be better than Arkansas, but.......

If this many hoks feel the need to come & respond to this on a CYCLONE board, mayyyybe they are scared! :biglaugh:

Another brilliant Cyclone that grasps the in-state rivals concept!!:twitcy::twitcy:

So when Iowa fans come over here its because "it's an instate rivals board", but when Cyclone fans go to HN, its because "we're little brother"??

Gotcha. I didn't realize there was a difference.

It is actually 7.875 wins over the next 16 seasons to equal Frank Broyles' win total, but it is good to see you put your math acumen learned at the University of Iowa to good use. Or is it the math skills from learning to count your mom's boyfriends/cigarettes in the tavern?

or, he could just win 4.2 games a year over the next 30 seasons since percentage seems to be irrelevant to you.

I actually attended ISU, which is apparently the same place you learned to not care about losses since your scenario would give him about 102 losses, which would be almost double Broyles total at Ark.

You are right though, he would only have to average 10-3 record for the next 13 seasons to be close to the same. Seems reasonable for a program that has had 8 or more wins 7 times since 1892 and 9 wins only once in the last century.

Next time you want to come up with a moronic scenario, at least be a little smarter about it. I figured your post was in jest, now that I know you are serious that changes things.

Broyles coached 19 seasons at Arkansas. So far, Rhoads has coached 3 at ISU. This means Rhoads would have 16 seasons to match Broyles' career. WTF am I doing? Trying to explain this to your ilk only make one dumber by the second.

Broyles took over at Arkansas which, before him, was not a power in the college football landscape. He won 70% of his games, several conference championships, & a national title. See, there is also this guy named Hayden Fry. He was hired after 19 years of futility & an overall record of 54-124 at Iowa. He went on to coach for 20 seasons & won 60% of his games. These are only 2 examples, so it is not like it has not been done before.

The post was no jest. You have to type my scenario was 'moronic' & others have to type their little jabs & 'lol' because all are nervous & hope & wish for Rhoads to use ISU as a stepping stone. That way, he cannot build on his vision which would elevate the Cyclones beyond Iowa & other programs. Happens quite a bit - See Tennessee, USC, Miami, etc, etc, etc.

You should never pay attention to these folks.

Their insecurity does not allow them to be exposed to approaching candor. Hell, they are so locked into their denial, they are even afraid of the definition of the word.

Winning percentage is irrelevant. K, got it.

I hope most cyclone fans don't have your expectations, or else you will end up running off a great coach.

So, you're another ISU alum here that is an ardent Hawkeye fan. Good gawd, this place is a lightning rod. Do you have a felt, framed likeness of Hayden Fry over your bed?

Jamba - not an 'ardent Hawkeye fan', but please, you have to give credit where credit is due. Fry built the Hawkeye program up from the depths. Arkansas was brought up due to the incident with Petrino and the absence now of a head coach. Rhoads' name is brought up, in particular by a bunch of Hawkeye fans because they cannot hide the fact that they are nervous because of the upward trend of Cyclone football (combined with the opposite trend in IC). I bet if you went to a Hawk message board that there is a thread about Rhoads going to Arkansas or some other school eventually because, well, Ames is Ames and ISU is ISU.

I believe Rhoads to be a man of vision. When he pointedly told a group while pointing to Jack Trice that a ticket will be hard to come by eventually, I think he means it & will work non-stop to produce the results that would lead to this happening. So, I believe Rhoads (should he stay long enough) will surpass Fry's legacy at Iowa, hence why I brought up Broyles @ Arkansas - he elevated Arkansas to a point Iowa has not reached.

So again, Jamba, do not let your intense hatred blind you to who is actually on your side (although with much less vigor than you commonly display). When dealing with Kurt-followers, you have to lower yourself to the lowest of low denominators. Most posting against me in this thread have no idea how bad Iowa sucked & for how long.

Eh us hawk fans just come here to keep the ratio stable. There are prob more than a dozen ISU fans on HN with 1,000 plus posts. Eh, as for Pwual Wrhoads it takes more than a below .500 season to scare us. Idk you guys seem to forget two of the last three were blow outs and this last one was an overtime decision .....Not exactly something to be cocky about ;).
