Hawk idiocy at its finest...

The next time that I'm anywhere near Kinnick on an ISU/UI gameday and I don't get spit at by some mid 40's woman with track marks or get a beer can thrown at me by some 19 year old native Chicagoan with an "Iowa ****in' City" t-shirt on will be the first. If you think I'm honestly going to feel bad for a what I feel is a bunch of Iowa fans getting a little taste of their own medicine during a road game, you're out of your damn mind.

I actually had a big group of Iowa alum buddies that flew down to Arizona to see the game for a bachelor party and they had a great time at the game. Their explanation of what was going on in the stands is a complete 180 to how you explain it, but in the same right they actually have the balls to stand up for themselves, so take it for what it's worth.

Worst experience at Jack Trice? - HawkeyeNation Forum

I don't read Hawkeye Nation that much, and post there even less, but I couldn't resist responding to this thread. There's some absolute crap in here. In case you don't want to click on the link, I'll post some highlights here.

If you want to see something funny go to HNs Rivalry Forum. It's almost all ISU threads started by UI fans including CF threads that they've reposted.

Last time I checked, that's not how you treat "little brother". That's how you treat your biggest most hated rival. Can you imagine threads like these if HN were around in 1991? All that hate over there is thinly veiled fear. UI has beaten the dog**** out of us two years running but these tools still have to spew. Why? They see what's coming; no more B10 championships and an even rivalry with us.

All HN forums are somewhat of a joke anyway, let alone the rivalry forum. IMO that place is definitely not the norm when it comes to the majority of the Hawkeye fanbase. If you're using that as your basis of the stereotypical Hawk fan, you are very misled

Didn't you guys play Pitt in a bowl game? I would assume that's the game they were referring to.

That post on the Penn St board about ISU being in the top 5 for worst fans was posted by a Bama fan so they were talking about the Independence Bowl when ISU played Bama.

A good friend of mine went out to visit his family, went to the game, and came back and said it was the worst experience he's ever had at a football game. And I've heard alot more stories like this than what your buddies have to say about it. But that being said, my experiences at Jack Trice inside at the game are not too great of experiences, either. But you should expect some of that at a rival stadium.

I don't say this about too many people from too many fan bases, but I am pretty sure any **** you have gotten you deserved. Stop hitting on middle aged women and losing a beer-bong contest with a teenager and you should be OK.

No idea how any of that correlates to a game experience at Kinnick, but I'm not going to quit doing either of those things.

What can I say, I love me some cougar and I'm pretty damn awful at beer pong.

I see similar posts on this site all the time about horrible experiences at Kinnick. I guess that would be Cyclone idiocy at its finest. :)

And we believe this based on your unbiased thought provoking post? Don't think so!:twitcy::twitcy:

Man I wish I could track down the CF thread where some Hawk fan went over to a USC board incognito to prove that they didn't dislike Iowa fans and they started ripping on them hardcore. That was hilarious!

Interesting that four of the five are rivals of Iowa and the other would be if Iowa played them more often (Mizzou)

Just for reference, Iowa fans aren't real fond of any of their fans either.

You see, when you put two border state (or same state) schools against eachother and neither side dominates, those fanbases tend to not like eachother. That's the difference between Iowa and ISU. ISU hasn't beaten anyone other than Iowa regularly enough to create a rivalry. It amazes me when people on this board compare their experiences in Lincoln, Austin, Norman, etc with Iowa City like it's apples to apples. Of course you had a better experience, your team was nothing more than a speedbump in those fans eyes.

Hmm, that's interesting because I have been to Wisconsin and Minnesota for games and haven't ever had a problem. So if they LOATHE all Iowa fans so much, why were they so nice to me? HMMMMMMMMM.

It would be nice if fan bases actually realized that there are 2 types of fans: intelligent fans and idiotic fans. Every fan base has them. Basing your stereotypes of fan bases on one or the other is pretty darn ignorant. Just because I had a great time at Wisconsin doesn't mean they don't have any douchers in their fan base. And Illinois hates Iowa cuz half of their state comes to the Iowa and half of their players do as well.

BTW, an in-state rivalry will tend to bring out a higher percent of douchers than a normal game. You are in a fairy tale world if you think there aren't a number of doucher Iowa fans that LOATHE ISU. Same as Nebraska, Mizzou, and KU.

Just exposure to every midwestern schools' fanbase----that they hate most Iowa fans.

don't shoot the messenger

Funny- I went to Ann Arbor, Minnesota, and Northwestern last year and had a great time visiting with rival fans. They all said pretty much the same thing-treat us with a little respect and we will do the same. Did not see any loathing in my section. So I disagree with your statement-it seems like a generic ISU statement to me.

It's amazing Iowa fans compare themselves to those schools you mentioned too. Iowa fans and their media are the biggest wannabee's in college football, with their complete obsession with Nebraska the last 12 months.

It's laughable, all of you goofballs creaming your pants over a 'rivalry' with Nebraska that doesn't exist.

Another contrived fairytale. Kind of like the contrived "Hawk's Nest" Alford conjured up. Always loved to see 200 U of Iowa students showing up for a MBB game. Real intimidating seeing that group who rareyl had anything to cheer about, then stayed away in droves
