Hawk idiocy at its finest...

iOWA FANS were on the Notre Dame board and making as#es of themselves for years.

and why were they over there?

You have some proof to back it up right?

I'm not saying it isn't true, but I've noticed over here stuff gets tossed around all the time about how bad an Iowa fan was acting yet nobody seems to offer up any evidence to support their case.

Man I wish I could track down the CF thread where some Hawk fan went over to a USC board incognito to prove that they didn't dislike Iowa fans and they started ripping on them hardcore. That was hilarious!

Iowa, Cal and the bRUINSReply All three are horrible. But Iowa fans were the absolute worst and acted like idiots. They were that way before, during and after the game so it didn't matter. They had never been there before and acted like it.

Iowa fans were mostly fat, drunk, boorish & stupid and that's just the women! You shoulda seen the men! Cal fans (until recently) had no business at a football game when I was a student. They used to only show up to get drunk and pick fights with USC fans. Like it was some form of protest against "the Man" to them!

Iowa or Va Tech. At the Va Tech game at Fed Ex field, girls above us in a luxury box dumped beer and yelled insults (USC *****, slut etc...) at one of the girls that was with us. The general vibe from Va Tech was inferiority, insecure and uptight.

Iowa at the Orange Bowl was nuts. I went with my uncle and some friends of his from Iowa City. When we got out of the car to park, I asked the women parked next to us if I could borrow a pen. After spitting out some chew juice, she realized I was a USC fan and told me off. My uncle went over and got the pen. Later, I was walking around the tailgates. The number of fans from Iowa outnumbered USC fans 5-1. I went down one isle that was pretty crazy with 100% Iowa fans on either side. As I walked down between the parties, people were throwing beer cans (empty) and other stuff at me. One of the bigger Iowa fans got right behind me and started screaming at the top of his lungs in my ear. The crowd was rowdy. I just laughed it off and kept on walking until I found some fellow Trojans, but was thinking at the time that things could get physical

So if you were keeping track that was 5 of 19 posters who mentioned Iowa without any prompting.

OUCH!! Looks like things went really south for DocGooden on the USC ESPN board after he revealed where he was from. Apparently the USC fans had buried their hatred for Iowa so deep that it didn't initially boil over:

Thanks to everyone who replied.

A short explanation. First of all, I am a proud University of Iowa alum and fan. We were having a discussion with some ISU fans on another site and they virtually guaranteed that USC fans would say that Iowa fans were their most hated fan base in the country because of their experiences in the '03 Orange Bowl.

I was in Miami that year for the bowl game. I did see a lot of obnoxious Iowa fans but didn't witness a lot of the negative behavior these guys were describing. I tailgated with a large group of both Iowa and USC fans and had a great time.

Hopefully we can meet up again soon, perhaps the '11 Rose Bowl!!

The Iowa fans in the Orange bowl were the most obnoxious, most violent fan base I have ever been near at any game! I think the folks on this board just need to be reminded of how bad they were and then you will hear about it.

I don't have a good thing to say about Iowa fans. They consistently verbally abused my 8-month old daughter that I brought with me just because I dressed her in Trojan baby outfits. The morning after the game I just snapped at an Iowa couple in the hotel elevator. They were talking crap about what a poor baby and mocking her and yelled at them, "At least she likes a winner!"

Man, your fans were the most arrogant, obnoxious and coarse group of citizens imaginable. The question posed was which fanbase was the most hated...I took that to mean conference foe who we encounter regularly.

Congratulations, friends of mine who have traveled all over the country to every USC away game for over 40 years, bestowed the dishonor to Iowa fans as THE worse fanbase they have ever encountered.

Iowa fans disappeared into the night like cowards when the rout began....not that we would have responded in like manner, not our style

Any problems anyone has ever had with Iowa fans is their own problem. If they gave Iowa the respect they so clearly deserve there would be no problems whatsoever. Hawkeye11n1 and all other Iowa fans have every right to be here. Iowa wasn't being shown the proper level of respect and deference, and we all needed to be reminded that whatever they might do is not anywhere near as bad as what ISU and everyone else does.
As far as how fans are treated at visiting stadiums, if you're there to watch the game and socialize, most fan bases will leave you alone. If you're so bold as to talk smack or start organized cheers (looking at you Nebraska fans) you're going to have the occasional run-in wherever you are. To me, it's always depended more on the behavior of the visiting fan than it does on the home fan base. If you're an obnoxious visitor, there will certainly be enough drunk idiots in the home stands to start something. Defer to the home fans, give them some respect whether they deserve it or not, and you should have no problems.
Arizona seemed to have a great atmosphere, I remember being impressed with the intensity in the stands. I'm sure certain Hawk fans would have gotten a hard time at that game, especially those that didn't feel the need to give the home team any sort of respect. I'm sure a lot of those Iowa fans looked at it as a vacation, with the game a mere formality. Arizona's team, and fans, clearly wanted that one more and came out very fired up.

Not sure if serious....lol

Ok, so you're not a dutchbag, you're a *********. The question is, why are you here, besides the obvious hawk troll answer.

Cuz I like following Clone sports (had a few friends play for them) and have followed them over the years. Hard for me to do so now that I am out of state so this board does a fine job.

I am a pretty reasonable to most Clone fans and should probably just ignore the ferdnand types, but what fun would that be? But all in all, I like the discussion with most of the group.

Well there ya go. I rarely post in this forum so you won't have to worry about me giving you too much ****.

LOL

We know many good Iowa fans and even they were utterly embarassed in South Beach all week January 2003, and during the game

Drunk, obnoxious hicks were berating USC fans all week long. Even the USC FB team mentioned in the paper how much smack (Fred Barr & Co) the Iowa players were giving them. They said they agree to keep their mouths shut all game--and only comment after they DESTROYED Iowa.

Plus---DocGooden is ALSO an alum of Iowa St university. Disingenuous moron
