hawk fb program headed to the bottom

Lol was that another year isu beat them?

If not for a horrible conference it would have happened earlier.

Do you realize Minnesota Pittsburgh and isu are their top three games? Do you realize they truly only sold out isu last year?

I'm guessing you do. And so do other hawk fans.

As a cyclone fan I'm going to sit back and enjoy the show after we beat them again in ames.

oh and how does your comment compare to the year their fan base thinks they win 10 games and barely scrape by at 500. Too funny.

I'm not sure what you're alluding to but we beat them in 2007 and lost in 2008. I think we will win again this year making it 4 of the last 5.

I think too many on this board consider the Iowa game only as the measure of success for ISU. I keep reading about our team improving. I sure hope so this year, but so far, preseason coach speak and blind optimism seem to be the only things that have consistently improved every year.

My goodness their roster is full of below average players. They play in a terrible division with hardly any good games on the schedule.

Add that to ISU'S continued growth and another win this year over them in football and it's a clear sign of where their program is heading.

I'm guessing ferentz loses his job after nightmare he created a quarterback for next year and the demise of hawk football will be complete.

I think most hawk fans see it coming. That's why they are trying to give away tickets now. It's rather funny.

Great post!!!! I completely agree with everything you said. If we were in that pathetic Weak 10 conference, we'd be putting up as many wins as them if not more. Recently we have equally beat each other in the Cy-Hawk games. The Big 12 has been better than the Big 10 so we have to play sometimes 4 NC contenders a season! Give me Paul Rhoads> Kirk Furentz EVERY day of the week and twice on Saturdays. Their scapegoat (Ruddock) is now gone, now they'll have nobody to blame but themselves.

I disagree with everything here. Stupid is as stupid does I guess.

Lol uh oh. When Bode agrees with you then you have officially received a certified stamp of stupidity. Congrats D Up

We're a LOOOONG way from being able to criticize ANY football program other than our own. Must be troll.

I wouldn't go that far saying too many use that game as a measure of success.

Actually, NOBODY on this board considers the Iowa game as the "measure of success". Iowa fans think that about ISU fans, which indicates you are an Iowa fan. ISU fans consider it an important event to beat an in-state rival and non-conference P5 team...but measure our success by getting to bowl games...at a minimum. Getting into a bowl correlates with doing better in our conference, so that is where the emphasis is for virtually every single Cyclone fan.

That said, with a win this year, you could honestly say we have come to dominate the Cy-Hawk series in the Kirk Ferentz era. And that IS fun.

Not sure of the mention of Iowa's program...it's only one game on ISU's schedule, and with exception to the 2011 game being at least exciting, it's been far from interesting as a college football game.

And the idea that ISU having Iowa's schedule automatically makes them have a good record is a funny one.

If you're the only team that I've seen get the ball downed JUST so the opponent wouldn't score with plenty of time left, it doesn't matter what your schedule is like; you're bad.

Amen to that. And can we please stop with how brutally tough the Big XII schedule is and how we "play the tough teams every year now"? Oklahoma and Texas have been average for some time now. Texas Tech, West Virginia, Oklahoma State, and KU aren't exactly a murderers row. TCU, KSU and Baylor are good teams, but there have been plenty of wins for the taking with the rest of the conference.

Lol

The funniest part to me is where Iowa fans always use the "We always play so bad and choke against ISU"......when realistically Iowa sucks worse than we do, just gets that cupcake schedule of theirs to inflate wins.

You must be referring to the iowa bowl game. Tennessee was downing the ball in the first half.

lol. But iowa kept their starters in to score some points.

My goodness that post was funny. Iowa was demolished by a freshmen jv team. That's what happens when you play decent opponents. That's same team was manhandled by OU earlier.

yeah.. schedule make no difference. In that case my local jh team should be the best team around. Oh wait. Who u play does matter.

Tennessee third string qb just took another knee in the first half vs iowa. You hawk fans are too funny.

Disagree. The first season's success had a lot to do with an extremely weak Big 12 North Division schedule and 4 non-conference games.

We no longer avoid the toughest schools in the Big 12 Conference and only have 3 non-conference games. We also survived the almost dissolving of the Big 12 Conference. I would say that the additional facilities and SEZ expansion certainly makes it appear that our FB is moving forward. I look forward to a much better season this year.

I dont think we can play the 'the schedule's gotten tougher, thats why we're worse' card when we're losing to the UNIs and NDSUs and KUs of the world.

And just because we survived realignment doesnt mean our football program improved as a result.
