hawk fb program headed to the bottom

Iowa wins 8 games and gets dominated in a bowl game in 2013 but beats ISU, everybody loves KF and talks about his January Bowl Games.

Iowa wins 7 games and gets dominated in a bowl game in 2014 and loses to ISU, everybody wants him fired.

I can think of multiple times fans called for KF's head, never has it happened after a season they beat ISU. Iowa fans use that game as a barometer for how successful their season was

The final score of the dominated bowl game in 2013 was 21-14 against LSU. We should have gotten killed on the scoreboard by that team, we weren't on their level. This also came after late season wins against Michigan and Nebraska, our first (and only) win over Nebraska as a conference foe.

I'm assuming you saw part of the 2014 bowl game. Did you see RB Jonathan Parker try to inbound a football to the opposing team, or Iowa lose by 17 while it felt like 40? In the midst of a complete mess of a quarterback controversy with an offensive coordinator whose idea of an explosive game plan includes throwing in a 4 yard button hook to complement a 3 yard out while it's 3rd and 8.

Iowa's problems at the moment are much, much larger than merely losing to 2-10 Iowa State. Although losing that game, especially in the way that it happened, is very indicative of the problems that exist.

What's your next story going to be to try and feel special?

Why do I keep coming back to this thread, I can't...look...away.....

Come back. We like you.

Yeah I watched Beathard look like a 3A High School QB

Speaking of poor conferences, go ahead and name the most disappointing conference in college football this year.

Now name the most disappointing conference in college basketball.

The UAB fanbase had a phrase for it. Started with the word Over. I'll try to remember the rest.

Dang, you're losing your cool when faced with simple facts.

How very little brother of you

I think you're wrong, he knows the importance of the game. Plus he seems to really like Ferentz and knows his job will be safe as long as he beats ISU

Oh great... I was thinking you had some intelligence... Sigh.... Now I'm let down.

Iowa has either been in the top-25 or marginally flirting with it for the last two years, and they have a better caliber of recruits coming in next year than they have had yet under McCaffery. Fran got somewhat lucky with Aaron White and Marble being as productive as they were, but there's no reason to think that they'll start heading down-hill next year. They aren't a bad team, and if you think they are, you don't know much about the topic.

Bump to show intelligence

Thankfully another NFL draft is here, with another Outland Trophy winner and more 1st and 2nd round picks for little bro. Anything to help us bust out of that ISU shadow.

And if Iowa ever starts beating isu more than isu beats Iowa I will start worrying about Iowa.

Right now. ISU wins more times than not and based on isu having more talent across the field I don't expect that to change. We expect to beat Iowa and we should based on actual results.

I really don't care how much value you put in beating terrible teams like the bottom of the big ten. ( your entire schedule).

We play a premiere schedule with top rated teams. Get back to us when you have anything remotely similar.

That local jh team is still undefeated. Too bad for the hawks.

This isn't Michigan/Ohio State.

You are really overstating your school's level of importance in the eyes of the Iowa fanbase. Our standards, whether you will agree with them or not, are much higher than what I would assume yours are for ISU. Simply being bowl eligible isn't sufficient. And, for that matter, merely beating ISU definitely isn't sufficient.

It's nice to beat ISU. But it is by no means more important in my eyes than Ohio State, Michigan, Minnesota, Michigan State, Nebraska, Wisconsin. I'd say I enjoy beating ISU more than I enjoy beating Illinois, Indiana and Purdue. Although beating those 3 is still more important than beating ISU.

You are pounding your chest a bit much for a 2-10 football team. In-state rival or not, you are a 2-10 football team and that severely takes away from the importance the game has. If your record were reversed, or even close to reversed, you would be every bit a part of that first list of teams.

Congratulations for wearing a uniform on the same day as some good teams from your conference. How good is debateable, particularly after the bowl results this year. Regardless, you accomplished nothing additional against these good teams than 3A Pella would have.

Keep on riding the coattails of your conference. At least it's something to do.

It's always the excuse over here. Well our conference was tough... until postseason play. Then for about a week you see some posts from people who chose to face reality, and then after they've had a little time to reorganize their thoughts they try to rationalize the tough conference excuse again. It's a revolving door.

Our conference was tough! Oh **** it sucks... Our conference was tough! Oh **** it sucks... Our conference IS TOUGH!

Well if the big ten hadn't sucked factually for years out of conference you may have a point. Or if there weren't these dang head to head games between the conferences that again clearly show the big twelve as much better, then you may have a point.

Unfortunately for you, it's not just opinion. It's fact that the big twelve beats up on the big ten head to head year after year.

His statement said nothing about the Big 10. What a terrible deflection.

How did the B12 perform in the bowls? That is what his comment was pertaining to. What does the Big 10 have to do with the Big 12's performance? Aside from beating a team that many of you wanted in the college football playoff, of course.

Dodger is doing some dodging! Good ol Dodger.. up to his old tricks
