hawk fb program headed to the bottom

Where did I say they won a rose bowl! Are you seriously dumb?

Let's see here
Iowa BCS games:
85 rose bowl
02 orange bowl.
10 orange bowl and won.

Isu BCS games:
None.
This argument is dumb and always will be.

Of course. I'm a hawk fan now. Man. I love how you care soooo much about Iowa.. Cute actually.

You missed the 81 Rose and 90 Rose.

not a hawk but I suppose your IP address placing you at the University of Iowa is just an easily explainable coincidence, huh?

I've already made it known that I've attended school here at the University of Iowa, and I don't hate the hawks by any means (pay a school 30K/year in tuition and you'll definitely feel the same). This is the best MBA program that I got into, and it's a damn good one at that. I root for ISU in cy-hawk games but still hate tavernclones such as D UP Clones. I will call him out for being an idiot. With that being said, I'm not fond of tavernhoks either.

So you joined here why?

We're a top 25 program right now, that is why we're a basketball school. You don't have to agree

Okay then, we're a top 25 team so therefore we're a basketball school. If that's your only criteria, I'm somewhat sure that Iowa will be labeled as a basketball school in the pretty near future.

Or we can agree that there's more to being a basketball school than simply having a top-25 program for three years in a row. We need more results in March and some conference championships. Right now, we're a basketball school because our other popular sport is among the absolute worst in the country.

You are either a Hawkeye fan or you don't follow basketball recruiting

There's logic in this post. Be ready to be called a Hawkeye fan some more.

I'm going to guess you're, just south of the Garden State Parkway. But, I could be wrong on that one. Twilight is different because his host is literally the University of Iowa. There's no mistaking that one.

Nah I'm actually in Minnesota. I have an IP blocker on mine. I was just curious is all.

How on earth is iowa going to be labeled a basketball school in any reasonable time frame? They've been at best mediocre under Fran, and their recruiting has been horrendous. You failed at your own criteria.

D Up may be a bit on the crazy side, but that doesn't make you any less of a fake.

Bro? Lol

While your mates are being brought down by their ip address, you attempt to move forward.

Classic stuff right there. Hurry, get another hawk fan to agree with you.

It never gets old.

You can't even get sarcasm. If you actually look at my post history. You'll find out in not a hawk fan. You are the biggest ******* idiot on this site. And that's saying something especially with clones21, bodeclone, and other idiots.

Iowa has either been in the top-25 or marginally flirting with it for the last two years, and they have a better caliber of recruits coming in next year than they have had yet under McCaffery. Fran got somewhat lucky with Aaron White and Marble being as productive as they were, but there's no reason to think that they'll start heading down-hill next year. They aren't a bad team, and if you think they are, you don't know much about the topic.

Agreed. They are far from being a bad team. I'm not thrilled with the Hawks recruiting, but I never get too caught up in the rankings of high school players. There's thousands of examples of top kids who have flopped and under the radar kids who have soared. The fact is you never really know what you've got until you have them on campus and see what kind of work ethic, attitude, and talent they have. Typically it takes all three of those things to end up being a good player. You can have all the ability in the world, but if you don't have the right attitude or work ethic then it isn't going to get you very far.

Sure I'd love to see Fran land some big name kids, but I also realize how difficult that is to do. However, I realize that if Iowa's going to remain a borderline top 25 program then more than likely it will be because of development not because of highly ranked recruits. That's just the way it is.

Better caliber recruits coming in? What are you talking about? 2014 was an awful class and 2015 looks like it could be worse

Iowa is not a borderline top 25 basketball program

Of course they aren't.

Worst team in America? Definitely. Borderline top 25? Never have they been.

I don't think they are a bad program at all, mediocre would be the perfect word. I would say very comparable to their football team and I don't think anyone in their right mind would say either are close to being a top 25 program

I'm thinking this class for them is loaded with upside. McCaffery has shown he can outperform the rankings of his recruiting classes by a long shot. They aren't far from the top-25, you're just too consumed with your arrogance to see that. Carry on.

Iowa is not a borderline top 25 basketball program

They've been in and just out of the top 25 for the past 2 years. If they aren't top 25 then they aren't far from it. Hence the word BORDERLINE.

As a Hawkeye fan I'm pretty happy with that. Sure I'd love to see some more success, but as long as they are making the tourney it is enjoyable for me. Because of my age group I really started to follow Iowa basketball during the Alford years, and then suffered through the Lick years. I remember watching some of the Tom Davis era but I was too young to really get into any of it. Just some flash backs of Woolridge, Settles, Kingsgbury, and Street.

I'm appreciative of a team that plays tough basketball and earns a trip to the tourney. That's all I ask. If Fran can consistently produce that kind of team then he'll have my vote of confidence. I don't have any reason at this point to think that he can't. He just needs to focus on player development.
