Hallice Cooke

I also love the transfer season somewhat more than the traditional recruiting season like many of you and I think there are really two facets why ISU fans think this way.

1. The transfer recruiting season happens so much faster than the long drawn-out traditional recruiting season. It really is more rapid-pace and exciting.

2. Whether we like it or not, we have yet to arrive as a blue-chip recruiting school yet for HS recruits, so we are always somewhat fighting from behind to steal onesies and twosies here and there. Lets face it, we still aren't a Kentucky or Kansas yet and only more winning will solve that problem. However, on the free-agency side, we truly have become the blue-chip school to beat, even with the Kenuckys and Kansas of the world now jumping in. Therefore, of course we like it as we for once truly get the pick of the litter. On the flip side, if we become like a Kanas and start getting the pick of the litter for HS recruits, I think we'd start liking the high school recruiting more and more. Right now, there is still just too much frustration on that front, especially after the Vaughn fiasco.

The question is:
Is Cooke better then SDW? We rave so much about SDW when all the time we talk about getting players over him.

Good find. Nice to see HC played with Hogue in AAU ball. Matt A. probably has some NYC connections that can help ISU's cause in recruiting too. Just add in a couple of more reason Ames looks to be a great fit for Cooke, at this point I would be suprised if CFH didn't get an official vist.

It would surely do him good to spend a little time in Focus Town.

At this point SDW is the next Alex Thompson. Every year we hear about his off season and how he is dominating. Then the season comes around and he is a no show. Hopefully that changes this year.

That's not a very fair comparison. SDW just finished his freshman year after sitting out a season. Let him take another year to prepare now that he knows what it takes to play in the Big12, hopefully he sees the light like Naz did this past off season!

I would love to see this one happen. He would still have 3 years left after sitting out a year.

He shot over 45 percent from 3 point range, about the same as he shot in FG overall. I would love to see what CFH can do with someone like that who has that kind of a starting point. As far as SDW, Naz, or Matt goes.....you can never have too many shooters.

AT sucked a basketball. SDW may not be able to get a lot of run at ISU but he doesn't suck.

Pretty sure it means he would go 894/895 on his senior season from downtown. His sole miss would a full court heave that hangs on the rim for 12 seconds before falling out due to the collective exhale of one side of Hilton while the other side collectively inhales. Fred only lets him shoot ten max a game as it gives the other team the illusion of having a chance to win.

I like the fact we were the first to contact him too.

Another important distinction - those teams sucked. SDW is at least not getting a lot of PT on good teams...

The only similarity is their ranking. AT was 127 in his class, SDW 125 I believe.

We've heard every year about how he is dominating in the offseason?

I have not once heard that about him, ever. I've heard has a lot of potential, but never that he is "dominating"

Can we please have a thread discussing a potential addition WITHOUT dissing any current players. You may think it but you don't have to say it.

He used the infamous straw man argument.
