I also love the transfer season somewhat more than the traditional recruiting season like many of you and I think there are really two facets why ISU fans think this way.
1. The transfer recruiting season happens so much faster than the long drawn-out traditional recruiting season. It really is more rapid-pace and exciting.
2. Whether we like it or not, we have yet to arrive as a blue-chip recruiting school yet for HS recruits, so we are always somewhat fighting from behind to steal onesies and twosies here and there. Lets face it, we still aren't a Kentucky or Kansas yet and only more winning will solve that problem. However, on the free-agency side, we truly have become the blue-chip school to beat, even with the Kenuckys and Kansas of the world now jumping in. Therefore, of course we like it as we for once truly get the pick of the litter. On the flip side, if we become like a Kanas and start getting the pick of the litter for HS recruits, I think we'd start liking the high school recruiting more and more. Right now, there is still just too much frustration on that front, especially after the Vaughn fiasco.
