Hallice Cooke

Hopefully Matt A and Fred are all over this and Cooke can see what a great fit he'd be in our system.

2015..... Morris, Cooke, Thomas, Naz, Custer in the back court

Niang, Anderson, McKay, Nader, Williams in the front court

Let's pump the brakes on Anderson until he signs with ISU.

Full disclosure: I think he's the next addition to the program.

The only thing I think that team might need would be a big guard ala Kane or BJD that can create and drive to the hole. Maybe that is Nader though? Haven't seen enough of his game to tell.

Really hope we can round out the transfer season with Anderson and Cooke though!

Does anyone else think that transfer season is so much more exciting? Maybe it's because we land a lot of the big fish, but I think the quick decisions and the previous collegiate results for comparisons make it much more fun than recruiting high school kids.

Definitely has more "immediacy." Still, HS recruiting will become more intriguing as player ratings start climbing (and with continued success, it's bound to happen). If Iowa State can start getting into top-25 recruiting classes, it'd be an annual offseason "event" that would rival the transfer trail.

I haven't said much concerning this, but going after a guy like this indicates to me that the ship has sailed concerning Dorsey-walker's chances at really contributing at some point at ISU... I hope it's not the case, because I just really like that kid. He seems to have his head on straight and represents ISU in a great way.

If we add two more transfers this year it will be interesting to see what happens with Walker

Fred has done a great job at finding roles for everyone. If they are good enough, they will play.

Look at Naz coming into this year. Not many expected him to be the key player he was by the end of the year.

SDW is a bigger guard and could develop into more of a slasher role while Cooke would be primarily a shooter.

There's room on the team for all kinds of players.

SDW is still well thought of in the program. Trust me

I sure hope he stays. Works on his game, and almost prove himself in such a way that we can't keep him off the floor at times. Worry about two sit-out transfers later ,the following year. Wonder if our guys read this free site. I hope not. Not that they're not speculating on their own about playing time possibilities, but just the comment "being recruited over" has always kinda bothered me. As for who we get...absolutely bring in the best players available who fit and build a team based on competition and completing each other. I still don't think CFH only plays 6/7 guys because he necessarily wants to. Remember he's an NBA guy, and they almost have a 2nd five who get smaller, yet quality minutes. But they have to be able to be big12 caliber minutes and productive. Keep working SDW!

I think the Transfer season is exciting because it has that whole rebellious "not doing things the right way" thing going on.

But now it amazes how many other big programs(like Duke, Michigan, etc.) are pulling in transfers , more than usual it seems. But, yeah, if winning NCAA games is not the 'right way' then so be it.

That's almost as much depth as the Hoks had this year...is that a good thing?

Nothing funny about my post... Just hope Walker keeps his head up and sticks with ISU. I can only imagine how it must feel to feel like you are being recruited over.

Never said it was wrong for Fred to do it, I just like Walker and hope he gets to show his skills in a more prevalent
role someday

Like every player, every day.

If needed, that'll happen next transfer season.

There are over 400 players transferring this year alone and close to a thousand have transferred in the last few years. Transfers are part of the norm now. It's no longer looked upon as the "wrong way" except by those who can't seem to land impact transfers. They are likely jealous of seeing others succeed so they have no yet accepted the transfer season as the "right way."

I agree....maybe just not the "traditional" way everyone is used to.

One and dones and transfer season is sort of a bypass to the develop for 4 years method everyone is used to. None of its wrong, its just how you acquire the absolute best talent on the floor you can.

Im just glad we are ahead of the curve on this.

Love transfer season. So much easier to project their production.

Unless SDW can get ahead of Thomas this year, I would not be surprised if he moved on after next year. Past history has shown players who don't contribute don't stick around Fred's program.
