Greatest professor you had while in school

Philosophy with Joe Kupfer and Political Science with Dave Peterson. Neither are super easy, but both are very entertaining and humorous

Lee Burras, a professor of Agronomy. I took every one of the soils courses that he taught. He's actually the reason I'm in graduate school now - on my way to becoming a soil science professor.

Best prof ever- Rob Wallace (biology/botany)
Rob Wallace was my favorite professor during my time at ISU. Dean Adams was pretty great as well. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever had a professor I didn't like for any biology class I took there.

Dr. Mark Power. Best finance professor at ISU.

And take a look at his stache!

Dr. Jim Bernard in the ME Department. Hands down the best professor I had while at ISU.

Dr. Bernard was good, had him for ME 421.

My personal favorite was Dr. Mike Pate. Taught Thermo, Compressed Air Systems, and Alternative Energy Sources. Had a totally different method of teaching and actually required us to use the US units instead of metric. Hated that part of it at the time, but now that I'm in the real world, I am thankful for it!

Anne Clem in Accounting. Made going to ACCT 284 lecture worthwhile, and was never afraid to make a wisecrack comment.

Barbara Mack in Journalism Law. A LOT of JLMC students hated her, but that's mostly because she's no pushover. If you pay 100% attention in her class (and I always made sure I was jacked up on caffeine to do so), not just did the work but actually used your brain in doing the work, and used intelligence in questions and conversation, she gave you plenty of respect. Pardon her if she has quite a bit higher expectations of students of a 400-level class...

Northway? something like that. He was pretty cool. Much better than most in that department.

Northway was awesome.

Steffen Schmidt and the late Don Boles, both in Pol Sci.

Roy Adams in Economics.

The guy I had for Physics 222 back in the mid to late 80s.

12:10 in Carver 101! i was there too! you wouldn't happen to be brett would you??

It's been a while, but is Michael Young the guy who doesn't make you buy a book? Just show up to class and take notes, then open note take home tests with significantly the same questions? If so I'll vote for him too. I had him for Calc 3 and Diff Eq and he was the bomb - learned a lot that I would've had no chance at with most of the teachers. I don't think his teaching style was widely appreciated it the Math Department though.

Bruce Munson teaching Fluid Mechanics was probably the best overall teacher I've ever had.

Going to agree with Dirk Deam, wish I had taken more of his classes, but I was in too much of a rush to graduate to change my plans. His style of teaching is so vastly different than most other professors, and he really challenges you to think and participate.
Steffen Schmidt is a really great professor as well.
