Greatest professor you had while in school

Hubert. Good choice. I had 302L. On the Marines birthday he did this yelling skit. Than when we were talking about conjugation he had did this whole skit like an old detective movie talking about a hot women (in this case a microbial cell).

And he also gave extra credit for naming his dog (Frank) on practicals. On last day of class, while cleaning equipment before winter break, he played Christmas vacation.

Thats who it was. Best teacher ever. Plus that class was the one with the experiment that required constant monitoring for like 36 hours or whatever it was. Great class.

Would agree with whoever posted Mark Power - Finance.

Second would be Anne Clem - Accounting.

David Stuart is completely different in 102 compared to History of Rock n' Roll, which is a great class.

I think a lot of profs are different when you get them away from the survey courses. Some of them seem to think that the intro stuff is beneath them, or not interesting enough for them, or seem to have an attitude with the idea that the students won't care.

Obviously, some won't, but I'm sure plenty more don't after seeing that attitude.

Most fun I ever had in class at ISU was with Matthew Hill in some Anthropology course I took as a humanities elective my senior year. Just a fun guy teaching a fun class.
Hill was my adviser when I was at ISU. He can be a pretty funny guy.

Bob Johnson, photography 301. Laid-back, very good teacher, and interested in his students. Considered him a friend. Plus, he always had some good music playing in the lab.

I catch myself using "Psshaw" every once in a while.

LindenCy is probably just trying to save face. What he meant to say was "tutor."

Nah, it was a TA. I mean you could slam me for being old back when it was like this in the mid-nineties, but then you might remember that you are older.

Not good with names, but I had a couple, interestingly none within my major.

I took History 421 (i think) - History of Warfare. Guy taught the class as a hobby, and he was good at it.

Sociology 310...prof was HOT!
I also do not remember her name but I had an Economics class with a young gal teacher. She had a very hot/sweet approach to some of her students. I never missed that class. In fact, a couple times I split from some real good situations just to get to her class.
She invited some students to her house at times. My other teachers were not as interesting.

Sean Taylor for fun factor and ease.
Prof Achter for being the greatest influence from a professor on campus.

Both are/were in the el ed dept.

Took Music 102 my freshman year and received a B+, the class was interesting but that is probably because I was heavily involved in music in high school.

As for David Stuart, I thought he was kind of arrogant and wasn't the biggest fan of his. He has to realize that most people are never really going to care about that class as they are just taking it to get at least a B for their gen ed requirements. I was one of very few people in that class that found the information to be intriguing. I also found it very entertaining when he would call out people in lecture for the slightest of noises/distractions, it was hilarious. He wanted that class to be absolutely quiet!

Brackins, Boozer and Lucca always talked though, but he never called them out, hmm weird...
I remember one time he called me out for reading the newspaper during class. It was the week of the ISU/Iowa football game and I had the paper down low and was reading it. After a few seconds of him not talking and being completely silent, I looked up and he was staring right at me. He said something along the lines of, "can that wait until after class? Put the paper down." Everybody was staring at me and my face turned bright red.
Other than that, I enjoyed him.

Speaking of getting called out in class. In MGMT 370, McElroy called out a kid for texting on his cell phone in class and told him to wait around after class and talk to him. I thought it was funny because it reminded me of being in a high school class.

I LOVED that project. I wish I hadn't been so busy that week or I would've been in the lab all day. Kick *** teacher!

Dr. Mark Power. Best finance professor at ISU.

And take a look at his stache!

Really cool guy. Between Power and Roger Murphy, there were some great parties in the college of business.
