GRAYER RETURNING TO MICHIGAN

This is simply bass ackwards...the assistant slots are for the less experienced not the head slots in nearly all cases.

I'm with you on the idea that inexperience seems to matter less to me with an assistant than with a head coach.

Of course, that doesn't mean that I'm not on the All-Kool-Aid team for Coach Hoiberg, because I sure am (and I'm not intending to insinuate that you aren't. I hope it doesn't come across that way).

Who has said Hoiberg was the perfect hire? He's not the perfect hire, which is why he needs assistants with a lot of experience. That's it that's all.

No one in this thread specifically...but I am referring to the overall general sense of euphoria that existed (and still exists) when Hoiberg was hired.

I certainly had concerns about the Hoiberg hire...I still do...but I have certainly warmed to it because of his actions since he was given the position a few months ago. He appears to have the sense of urgency (ie: win and win now) that we need to have in the program. He also made a very solid hire in Lutz. I like what I see so far.

My comments are really directed to the people who claim Grayer is too inexperienced but express no such concerns over Hoiberg. Of course, many of these people are the same ones that continually begged us all to "be patient" with our last "great guy" head coach.

Could you create a spreadsheet? I'd like to see a summary of those who claim Grayer is too inexperienced yet have no concerns about Hoiberg. Please add a column indicating which ones begged us to be patient with Greg. I just want to see who your comments are directed at. I think it would be cool to see which category you have everyone slotted in.

I agree...

Really you come on here to downgrade the program, now???

You know after the past four years with Chewy in over his head, and turning what was a pretty damn good job into what he did, I would think that you wouldn't be as snarky as you are coming off.

If Chewy would have had ANY success here, then he would have been fine. But you can't coach your way to losses over and over again, before people figure you out. They even tried to trick people two years ago with the most pathetic schedule this side of Bill Snyder....But he still couldn't keep from coaching losses from ahead.

He got his New Mexico, we will see what he can do with his escape job. You should leave it at thank you Iowa State for giving him the chance that they did. You know it was bad when EVERYONE in the world knew that the only reason that he was going to be employed at Iowa State this year was because they couldn't afford to buy his mediocre *** out.

Then he hires a legend to try to deflect attention from his underacheiving ways....PATHETIC.

Good riddance Chewy!

Be careful with that CW...Some people don't like that.

Well let us all know when you start.

BTW getting an offer because you chase it, and offer your son as a recruit to hurt a conference rival, doesn't necessarily make you coveted.

i hope Grayer left because he didnt

like sitting in a office staring at the wall, and not because he was pushed out.
