Hey, everyone. I'm an out of town fan looking to hit up the town after the game. Any recommendations? Looking to avoid preppy frat bars btw.

Ames isn't too Greek anymore. You will want to try Cy's Roost, Mickey's, or Paddy's. If you're looking for cheap drinks and even cheaper women, go to Sips:biglaugh: Just kidding, but they do have cheap drinks and a dance floor. Avoid Element. Most of the bars are on Welch Ave. just south of Lincoln Way. Have fun and welcome to Ames!
Just by the name Element I know I want to avoid it. Cheap drinks and women at Sips sounds good to be honest.

I'm pretty sure Element is the only 18+ bar in Ames, you have to be 21 to get into anywhere else. I've never been there personally, but I've heard plenty of horror stories, and have had plenty of underclassmen recommend going there during weekends.
I'm 24, just concerned if any places are ***** about out of state IDs. The couple of places that let in under 21 in Kent sucked, looking to avoid.
Eh, I wouldn't worry about it. If they check your ID, they should be knowledgeable enough to know there will be people from Ohio in town. I doubt they'll give your license a second look.
LOL, I'm from Upstate NY. I had to pull out 3 pic IDs to get into some bars in Kent. Ames sounds like fun. I went to an I-Cubs game a couple of years ago and the old ladies at the beer stand seemed pissed that I bought an Old Style with just at NYS ID.
