All,

I am undecided on what to purchase as a carry gun (primary). I currently have a Springfield XD9, 4". I bought a Fobus (outside the waistband) holster for it today and after trying it in multiple positions with multiple overgarments, I just don't think that I am going to be able to carry it.

I have been intending to get something smaller to carry (and a good excuse to buy a new gun!) and am torn between the Glock 26 and Ruger LCP. I can fit both comfortably in a front pocket, which I seem to be favoring over waistband carry. Obviously it would be nice to just stockpile one caliber of ammo, and am a little bit concerned about the smaller caliber (.380). I have shot both, enjoy shooting both, and can shoot accurately with both.

If you know anything about these two guns, and have any thoughts, chime in. Glock 26 ~$500 and Ruger LCP ~$300, and I am frugal (my wife would probably say cheap). Thoughts? Anyone own / carry either of those two?

why the **** are you carrying heat to begin with? Good luck with the waistband holster. I hope you dont shoot your junk.

Oh, and my wife keeps my junk in a safe place that I cannot access and do not know the location of said safe place.

good point. I had to break off my junk when I got married. I haven't had my junk in 13 years.

I would go with the Glock but that is by looks i dont know how either of the shoot.

I would agree with you on looks but the Ruger LCP is so dang small I can bearly feel it in my pocket (less than a cell phone).

I personally want the 17 i would want a little size to my gun. so they can see the heat i am packing ahha.

I have basically an equivalent to the Glock 17 in my 4" Springfield (somewhere between the 17 and the 19).

People seeing you with the "heat" defeats the purpose of concealed carry, not to mention getting you in trouble for not carrying concealed, but open, which is illegal!

Just bought the G17. I love it so far. Fired off a few hundred rounds in the backwoods with no problems/no jams.

You can't go wrong with a Glock.

If I didn't have my Springfield, I would have bought either a Glock 17 or 19. I have only recently become a handgun enthusiast but have put about 1,000 rounds through in the last 6 months.

Glad to see there are more like me around; and I would agree that one can't go wrong with a Glock.

Do you have one or have you shot one to compare to an LCP?

I have shot both, and will be getting the Bersa in satin nickel. The LCP is a better CCW due to size and weight since it's a mouse gun. I like the Bersa better for durability and accuracy, and CC wasn't an issue since we can't CC in Illinois.

It must be nice to not live in story county...

Shoot. for some reason i thought as long as it was cover like with a shirt or coat/whatever it was considered concealed. didnt know it had to be practically invisible. learn something new every day.
