Garza Surgery?

You said he was a better rebounder than anyone ISU has, not that he's a better offensive player. It's obvious he won't get as many rebounds as Lard if they play the same # of years in college and Lard doesn't go pro early. After one season it's

I'm not sure he is a better offensive player anyway, toward the end of the year 15-20 was a typical scoring night for Lard. Offensive rebounds and put backs are part of offense.

Lard’s last five games (points): 14, 8, 2, 9, 14

Garza’s last five games (points): 17, 16, 18, 20, 13

You guys want your minds blown? Go check kenpom’s best statistical comp for Lard’s freshman year. It’s the freshman year of Melzahn Basabe.

The great news is that his next four comps are the freshman years of JaMychal Green (stud), Robert Williams (stud), Angel Delgado (stud), and Trevor Booker (stud).

Garza’s comps are the freshman years for Aaron White, Bryan Bouchie, Robert Lewandowsi, Troy Gillwetter. Kenpom is so good his statistical comps for Garza are slow goofy guys, whereas Lard’s are NBA players. He doesn’t even have to watch them play.

After looking at it more Garza had a low TO rate and middling block rate, which tended to comp him to mid-major type freshman bigs, while Lard had high turnover and block rates which comped to rawer, but talented bigs.

I mean Iowa State had maybe the goofiest, slowest guy in the history of college basketball not all that long ago, and he was one of the greatest in school history...

Pesky facts.

Your argument is based off points per game and field goal percentage? Lol.

Points per 100 possessions:
Garza- 31.5
Lard- 27.4

O-Rating
Garza- 126.6
Lard- 113.4

True Shooting Percentage
Garza- 61%
Lard- 60%

Offensive Box Plus/Minus
Garza- 5.9
Lard- 2.0

Offensive Win Shares
Garza- 2.7
Lard- 1.8

Rebound Percentage
Garza- 16.7%
Lard- 16.6%

Lard is a good player, has way more potential than Garza, and is a better all-around player than Garza. But nearly every single advanced metric says Garza is the better offensive player, and just watching the two it is obvious that Garza is much more skilled and has a more diverse array of post moves.
I assume this a website. I would like to see the source. I am interested in checking it out.

Seems like those would be the opinion of Ken Pomeroy, not facts.
Well, they are facts, as they are indeed kenpom’s statistical comps.

But we already know that you struggle with the definition of a fact. An opinion would be a projection on how Lard performs in the future, based on those comps (or on any other basis).

Thank you. Fascinating haven’t seen that one before. I also suspected @benjimill was cherry picking certain stats-I was right

Anyone with half a brain could see Garza was not “better than any post player ISU has”.

Quite a bit different statement than some idiot cherry picking a few advanced metrics.

Garza > Lard

Gonna be as good as the old Basabe > Ejim.

Iowa fans creaming themselves over Fran’s recruiting and a PIG every three years has to give him the easiest job in P5. Lick set the bar sooooooooo low.

No one has said that Garza is better than Lard. Learn how to read.

Cherry picking a few advanced metrics? Nearly every single advanced metric says Garza is better offensively. Anyone with a brain could see that Garza is a much more skilled offensive player than Lard; it isn’t even close.

So you would take Garza over Lard then
