I've followed Penn State and Northwestern bands into Kinnick before. It's true. It's very, very true. Not to condone what happened in Ames this weekend, but Iowa lives in a big effing glass house on a lot of things.

Claiming that someone yelled the N word is getting to the point where I just assume they are making it up. It's so easy to claim without having to prove it. "Oh, well, somebody yelled the N word at us". Ok? Have proof? Did anybody else hear it? Video? Usually nothing.

Best thing we can do is not send the band, return all tickets and have no one show up for it. They can’t sell out without us there. It would be a large financial hit. When they come, don’t allow the band and go back to season tickets and season ticket members can buy the extra tickets. We would sell out.

I was over in IC with my Iowa friends for the Michigan St game a few years ago and we were tailgating in a front yard on Koser. About 8 or so Spartan fans come walking down the sidewalk and people were just spewing profanity's and non sense at these people. These aren't drunk college kids either, they are grown a$$ adults who should know better...

Do you support Barta's knee-jerk announcements? Last time he emailed all of our conference mates to warn them, and it turned out it was a U of I student that stole items from the locker room.

Actually, you're interpreting that a little bit liberally. When you have threads related to contests with Iowa that are often heavily populated by Hawkeye trolls, it makes sense to hide them behind an opt-in wall so that said trolls don't attempt to dominate the entire board. The message board is NOT dedicated to Iowa, it is "opt-in" to keep them from spreading. :)

Not really. At least, not at the high school level. A couple of years ago the Perry basketball team was subjected to a lot of harassment at an away game, primarily directed at the latino members of the team.
Not wanted to get all political, just saying the state of Iowa is not without its bigots...sadly...
