I did switch back and forth between the women's NCAA games and reruns of "Chopped" as opposed to watching the NIT.:smile: Watching people cook chicken intestines a big improvement over Hoks.
It did seem that the network was more interested in the baseball perfect game being pitched and really wished that it could be showing the baseball game.
I told a hawk buddy that his hawks being in the NIT championship was like having the coolest moped in the world and deciding to take it to Sturgis, SD in the month of August.

The idea that this run somehow erases their mediocre resume and proves the selection committee wrong is what gets me. One of the top non-ISU related things I'd love to happen next MBB would be for Iowa to make it into the first four and lose, just so I could ask them if they feel the winner of the NIT should have gotten that tournament bid instead of them.
After this magical run I think it's going to hurt then more than help them. I can easily see Marble and McCabe hiring an agent now and if they do stay all it's going to do is put a bulls eye on their back for next season. You'd have to think all the teams are going to be a little more up for a game against them. All 22,500 viewers last night know what the Hoks can do against sub par opponents!
Do you realize how much publicity the Hoks are getting now for still playing? I'm sure there were tons of NBA scouts at the game to watch Marble, McCabe and Woodbury
The genuine basketball fans there are actually embarrassed at the over the top reactions of some over there. Nothing wrong with supporting your team and being optimistic about the future. But expecting 4 and 5 star recruits, expecting more media coverage, and expecting rival fan bases to be jealous of Iowa's NIT run is beyond ludicrous.

Hawk fans unanimously agree. They would rather not play in a bowl game and win 4 games than make a bowl game but lose.

The tourney isn't getting press. The reaction of an idiotic fan base to the tourney run is what is getting a lot of press on this site. We all like our share of entertainment. And Iowa fans never disappoint us.
I don't think threads mocking a fan base for their overwhelming joy about their run in the Not Important Tournament counts as press. Lol
