[h=3]From Buster28: where is the most out of the way place you've run into another Cyclone fan while traveling?[/h]

I was vacationing in Hawaii when I ran into a guy from Ames. I can't remember if he went to school or not, but he talked about growing up and watching the Cyclones play.

The House on the Rock in Wisconsin

I was vacationing in Hawaii when I ran into a guy from Ames.

We were taking a picture under the banyan tree in Lahaina, Maui and a man and I had the same Cyclones INsight Bowl t-shirt on. Not really random because it's such a tourist destination but crazy we had the same shirt on at the same place 1,000 miles away.

When I was 10 years old me and my family ran into another family from Ames at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. I don't remember anything that was said but I remember the Dad was wearing an Iowa State sweatshirt.

On vacation in Jamaica. We were playing beach volleyball. Started talking to a guy on the sidelines watching his wife play. Turns out she used to be a setter for UNI (that was really unfair, haha!). Discovered we were both ISU grads.

Not real out of the way, but I ran into the late great Justin Eilers in Galena, IL at a wedding. Ended up getting pretty drunk with him. By 3 a.m. he was throwing furniture off of the second story balcony of the rental everybody was staying in. Good times were had by most.

The streets of Corrientes, Argentina. I studied abroad there in HS. Saw a guy walking around with an old school walking Cy T-shirt that had seen better days. Pretty sure he had no idea where Iowa is at. Does this qualify?

I was on a study abroad trip to Argentina and ran across an agronomist at a bar who graduated from Iowa State. Not too random I guess since it was an agronomy trip but it was strange having someone yell Go Cyclones across the bar 5000 miles from home.

Flying through Denver, the ISU basketball team was returning from a Hawaii tournament - I believe. Anyway, got seated next to Taggart.

Airport jetway in Munich, Germany last November. I had my ISU coat on, and somebody called out "Go Cyclones". Turned out to be a couple going to visit some family. I was there for work.

On our honeymoon in Melbourne at the Australian Open. Somehow out of everyone gathering to watch practices we ended up right next to a couple there on vacation from Iowa that were also big cyclone fans!
