Friday Morning Session

OK, I sorta answered my own question: I found Eric Thompson (HWT) , Andrew Long (125) , and Chris Spangler (171)* from old CF threads, and I found Nate Carr, Jr. (157) is transferring from ICCC according to cyclones.com. Can anyone confirm that all of these guys are actually coming?

*Edit* I'm assuming 171 would actually be 174 in college. In the thread I found, Spangler was listed at 171.

This is really not that unexpected to me. Remember, most of the team moved up a weight this year. With another off season of weight training and conditioning, we will be much more of a threat to win it all next year.

So...Fanthorpe, Gallick, and Reader all lost so far, right? Mueller's done too. So Cyler has our only W of the day?

While I tend to agree somewhat, let's be honest here, these guys aren't wrestling under weight, they are weighing in at the same weight as their opponents. Moving up a weight class didn't hurt us at the Big 12's or the duals throughout the year. We are just getting our collective asses handed to us today and there is no other way to put it.

We didn't have good matchups today, but to win a national championship, you have to pull upsets. Today's results aren't all that unexpected. We still have 8 guys with an opportunity to be all-americans which would be a hell of a feat. 6 is more likely, but 7 would be nice.

What are the standings? Anybody know?

I think Iowa is now 5 for 5 in the quarters and 6 for 6 on the day and last I heard they have opened up a 20 point lead. This thing is all but over. This next year is going to be hard hearing all the crap coming out of EIU.

I'm actually interested in seeing where CMU is falling in the standings. They're a pretty cool story.

It pains me to no end to say this but I like how Iowa wrestles, they are actually AGGRESSIVE. We seem passive and seem to wait for openings, personally I hate that style. I say be aggressive and go make your points.
