I think we would have to be careful with ever bringing Hoiberg back into town to coach. Just look at the Indiana coaching situation. They passed on even pursuing their golden boy because they knew that if they hired him, and he tanked that there was no way to get him out. Therefore they opted to go in another direction. So not to say that I wouldn't love to see Fred back in Ames some day, I just don't think it will happen. At least not as a head coach.

Alford had a better chance of becoming Indiana's coach before he added the "Iowa" chapter to his resume. Craig Neal has a better chance of becoming the next head coach at Indiana, and he is more responsible for Iowa's success last year than Alford. He and Brunner.
