Fred > Fran

You are trolling why he is not playing, when everyone knows it was because he is dealing with the effects of his cancer. Just drop the troll and move onto your next one, this isn't a good look for you trolling a kid dealing with the effects of his cancer.

If "dealing with the effects of his cancer" means not being able to put on weight to compete at the collegiate level then yes that's the case

Um, no that isn't it. He was the same weight he was always going to play the season at when the season started. You don't "bulk up" during a season.

Just stop already, it is a bad look, I'm trying to help you out here, but you seemed determined to troll a kid dealing with the effects of his cancer.

He's going to sit out all year because he's not physically ready to compete. That's not trolling. He was able to play all the games in high school but rightfully so he can't in college. Stop being so dramatic

I think we all know what Patrick went through. I hope it hasn't come back. Why wouldn't his dad just red shirt him from the start? Everyone knows he currently doesn't have the muscle for D1 ball. Nothing being said about it right now it seems.

I was told they knew he could play in a few games and if it wasn't working out they could just medical redshirt him

I just hope at the end of the season, we don't look back and see that the loss to Iowa was our worst loss of the season. Really hope that's not the case.

Yes it was historically bad. No, it won't be remembered that much. It's not like ISU was top 5 undefeated ect. We are a mediocre team that when hits shots can beat most teams but if doesn't hit shots can lose to anyone.
A mediocre team that was without its do-everything point guard who is leading the team in minutes, scoring, made three point shots, three point percentage*, assists and steals. He is only out of leading the team in rebounding by a whisker.

*Steyer (1-1) and Lewis (6-11) have higher percentages but they are both a long way from qualifying for the conference or NCAA lists.

If the Clones lose their next 2 they will have the same record as Nebraska with similar SOS.
I can see why you say that. ISU is at 35th while Nebraska is at 73rd. Practically identical.

And after ISU plays the next two games (11-2 KU, #1 NET and 9-5 OU, #48 NET), their strength of schedule will only go up.

Fred at Iowa State yes. Now I disagree. Prohm can get his guys to score, Fred can't

LOL. Fred is in his 6th year of coaching and has 4 NCAA Tournament appearances (assuming Neb. miss the NCAA this year). Prohm is in his 9th year of coaching and has 4 NCAA appearances (assuming ISU missing the NCAA this year). Prohm has only made 2 NCAA tournaments without Fred's players.

Fred is clearly > than Prohm.

So you think Alford > Fran?

You said that Fred at ISU > Prohm at ISU, but Prohm as a coach is > than Fred. Please explain that first.

Fred sucks at Nebraska this year and next year looks brutal for them too. I think most coaches in college basketball are better than Fred now unfortunately

I see your point but I think you are kind of both right. Reading between the lines a bit but I think the side effect of his cancer is an inability to gain/retain weight, and his inability to gain/retain weight would make it hard to compete at this level. I think he has the tools to be a good player but he's going to have to put on weight, which I imagine is difficult given what his body has gone through.

I don't necessarily think it's "trolling him because of his cancer" to point out it's going to be hard for him to play at this level at his current weight, even if that weight issue is a byproduct of his cancer. In any event it's unfortunate and I hope they can get it worked out this season and I hope he can get into playing form and stay healthy.
