Fraschilla vs KU

Stop Fran. Your making them cry.

It actually looks like he's being regurgitated.

I love to bring this one up whenever we hear KU fans whine. This was back in 2004 but still a prime example why KU fans have no business whining when people point out they get favorable calls.

Let's not forget this doozy too that got national attention:

I bet you just about every team in the Big 12 can probably name some examples where KU got some favorable calls that potentially affected the outcome of the game. Let the KU fans whine about Fran, I'd gladly trade having Fran kiss their butts and praising KU at every moment for them not winning the regular season championship 13 straight years

The phantom non-foul on Withey will always haunt me from that game. That was crucial to the closing minutes.

Bad calls happen in every game. Everyone knows this. College basketball officials, for the most part, are not good at their job.

Some bad calls favor KU, some bad calls hurt KU. Conference opponents sick of seeing KU finish first hone in on the bad calls that favor KU. They disregard the calls that hurt KU.

Tomorrow night there will be a bad call that favors KU. Beaten down fans across the conference will point and say "see, they get ALL the calls." Classic case of confirmation bias.

fraschilla may not admit it, but he is always cheering against KU.

And I love it.

Just out of curiosity, name the last time a late game controversial call went against KU, and helped the other team win the game.

Hate to do this because it sounds like whining, but you asked so here goes.

Last year against Villanova. I wouldn't say it caused KU to lose but it definitely helped Villanova. KU was down by 2 with the ball with less than a minute on the clock. Graham splits a double team at half court, gets tripped, falls and in the process of trying to recollect the ball gets called for a foul. So instead of KU shooting FT's with the opportunity to tie, Villanova has the ball. Plus it was Graham's 5th foul.

Hasn't someone actually done the statistical research that proves KU get an inordinate number of favorable calls compared to other Big 12 teams?

Man, watching that PTI segment got me all pissed off and fired up all over again...

I think a big part of the reason fans forget bad calls against KU is that KU often still wins the game. In the KU/KSU game in Manhattan for example, KSU was the beneficiary of some pretty terrible 2nd half calls. Sneed got 3 FT's when he kicked his legs out to make contact with Mason. This came right after Vick got clobbered shooting a 3. In Vick's case there was no foul called.

KU still won though.
