Former Local Personalities Today

Remember when the Morning Rush tried to set Seann up with that nice lady from the local news? Can't remember her name. I felt bad for her because they were really pressuring her.
Yes it was her. Travis was being a complete dbag about it. She was very polite and I felt bad for her.
Super awkward. The "Travis fantasizing through Sean/Travis being a masogynist" gimmick is tiring and why I don't listen much any more.

I see/hear Sean has a gf now....I suppose that limits that stuff a bit now.

It just means Sean has to have uncomfortable discussions about his relationship that ultimately probably leads to a breakup because they don't like the extra attention. They've had some of his past girlfriends call in or come into the studio I know. He even said once one of his dating app profiles got flagged with a warning note that he is on the radio so if you date him it likely will be discussed on the air. Haven't heard too much about this current GF so maybe they finally laid off him a bit.

Wow, that's wild....I suppose some of that comes with the territory (choosing to share your personal life, etc) and I suppose that lifestyle also gives him some "local celebrity" status that aides in his dating game.

Here's what I posted back in one of the other TMR threads. Think Sean needs to get out of that show

I had to stop listening too, just the same no-talent shtick every morning.

I'm surprised Sean puts up with as much as he does with Heather and Travis. If it were me I would've quit a long time ago and focused on my banking job.

I mean, it is possible for them to talk about their SO's without making it weird or creepy like Travis enjoys. Murph and Andy do it all the time.

I love that bakery, so they get a pass.

The last time I was in Osky I had a pizza at Tasos that was pretty ******* good.

Taso's...Usually I'm unimpressed with places that have a gigantic menu but that place was awesome. I say was because I haven't been there since shortly into Bush's second term but by the way you describe it, its the same. Good to hear!

That pizza was probably first term Obama for me. I assume it's still there.

A few years back he was going to quit to take some full time banking job and they even had a farewell shownfor him then at last minute decided to back out and stay on the shoe. Dunno if that was some planned publicity stunt they did or if he really is just that dumb.

Yeah, was going to post this. It apparently wasn't a show stunt, something changed with the job he was offered and it allowed him to continue doing the show. I was really looking forward to him leaving just to watch the show crash and burn, as Heather and Travis absolutely cannot carry the show on their own without having the crutch of making fun of Sean to fall back on.

keith murphy will probably be moving on soon. older. im sure his salary isn't cheap (local tv seems to send those out to pasture). I listen to the radio show but holy hell he is starting to sound like he is losing it. 10 mins the other day on having to wear a mask on a plane....

He’s a political hack in addition to a Hawk shill now

I don't think he's some genius, but I think that show makes him out to be dumber than he actually is. At what point do you stop putting up with that and focus on other pursuits?

I've never listened to his podcast, but I actually really like the Saturday morning shows he and Emery have done. Think they have pretty good chemistry, to the point there's a future there (maybe replace TMR or slide in when Murph and Andy hang it up?).

If it were me, I'd stop putting up with that clown show in the mornings, focus on your banking job and your other podcasts and shows. Either one (or both) will pay off more than staying on TMR

I see you have not spent much time in Southern Iowa, that's ok, but before you rip on Osky, you should see some of the crap hole towns down here. 11 ok.

Leon
Corydon
Chariton
Eddyville
Mt. Aye
Bedford
Bonaparte
Donelson
Milo
Liberty Center
Seymour

Not even going to include towns like Lamoni, Centerville, Albia, Eldon. Osky is a nicer town than all of them.
How do you have that list without including Keokuk? I guess they haven’t had a building collapse in a couple weeks but still.

Great points. I was going to say similar, when I run Saturday errands and listen almost completely different vibe from him on the Saturday show.....seems TMR is just making him dopey, 'Sup, playa type vibe which is tiring. His takes on Saturday are better than Travis and Heathers on most week days

i dont think he is a hawk nor a political hack. i just think he might be losing it

I’d suspect it has more to do with filling 10 hours of airtime each week - if you’re on the ball 95% of the time, that’s still 30 minutes of substandard content. He’s only 57.
